Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

The Director of Financial Systems, Finance and Accounts Payable is directly responsible for managing NBCU's diverse enterprise-wide financial systems portfolio and delivering value to business stakeholders.
This leadership role will report directly to the VP, S/4 Finance & Source to Pay.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead NBCU's Accounts Payable S/4 Technology Transformation:
  • Oversee the transformation of NBCU's Accounts Payable process and application landscape using S/4 HANA and advanced payable systems.
  • Evaluate third-party technology solutions as alternatives to custom development tools.
  • Lead the master data clean conversion and strategy for transitioning Vendor management and Accounts Payable data from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA.
  • Craft adaptable, comprehensive, and feasible SAP solutions by creating necessary blueprint documents for functional requirements and technical specifications
  • Design functional solutions to solve business problems and needs
  • Perform fit-gap analysis via discovery by engaging with business units and SAP team members
  • Review and/or participate in solution build and test activities on SAP implementations, rollouts, or upgrade projects; may be asked to step in to conduct project management activities from time to time
  • Lead end-to-end implementations plus engage as solution architect simultaneously with other SAP projects that are in progress. This requires cross technical/functional team project management.

Operations:
  • Serve as the conduit between the engagement team, business, and engineering.
  • Lead the development of an aligned long-range plan and execution roadmap to optimize and standardize processes, and consolidate applications
  • Drive consensus on process design and platform strategy with process owners and engineering teams.
  • Manage daily Enterprise Financial Systems operations, including Production Support and Application Support Service providers.
  • Oversee a portfolio of Enterprise Financial Systems across various technical platforms (SAP, on-Prem, SAAS, COTS).
  • Incorporate AI opportunities for business solutions design and roadmap definition.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to identify solutions aligned with the unified architecture.
  • Lead technology projects for corporate initiatives, including NBCU's Financial Transformation with S/4 HANA.
  • Manage a team of Enterprise Business Analysts, technology product owners, architects, service providers, and system integrators.
  • Foster strong relationships with strategic application vendors and manage vendor performance.
  • Perform Application and Tool Assessments, including RFP, Software Selection, and developing implementation plans.
  • Act as the main business escalation point for Product and technology issues.
  • Oversee the intake process for technology requests, ensuring efficiency and clarity.
  • Manage and prioritize demands based on capacity, resources, and business impact.
  • Take ownership of budgets related to the portfolio, including Application Support and Projects.
  • Engage with Cyber, Legal, Privacy, and Audit teams to ensure compliance with NBCU policies.
  • Manage periodic SOX reviews for financial compliance.
  • Design complex SAP solutions and guide configuration and functional design.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Proactive, passionate, and driven to handle complex tasks across various Finance areas.
  • Deep knowledge in areas of accountability to develop and direct programs and people.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including hands-on SAP experience. S/4 preferred
  • 5+ years of management experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or Business.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Systems or Source to Pay solutions and processes.
  • Experience leading large SAP initiatives and S/4 HANA transformations.
  • Ability to translate complex strategies into executive-friendly content.
  • Excellent verbal/presentation and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Mentors team members in relevant technologies and implementation architecture.
  • Familiarity with IT/SAP project methodologies and change control processes.
  • Comfortable working in an outsourced model with onshore and offshore resources.
  • Strong influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage budget and organizational tasks.
  • Willingness to work off business hours and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, invoice imaging procurement, or equivalent ERP systems.

Additional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
