Job Description

The Director of Finance manages the daily and monthly financial functions of the company, including financial statement preparation, asset and cash flow management, treasury management, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, and taxes.

This position is being offered as a full time hybrid schedule, reporting to the Sacramento Corporate office Tuesdays and Thursdays with the option of working from home Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 

Salary ranges between $200,000 to $250,000 depending on experience.

Top 3 Responsibilities and how you will be measured:

1) Create Accurate and Timely Financial Statements

Measurement: Completion within established timeframes.

2) Manage the Treasury and Warehouse Lines

Measurement: Maintain established liquidity metrics.

3) Manage the Accounting Team, Staff Accountants, Accounts Payable, Receivable and Payroll

Measurement: Vendor payments made on a timely basis.

Essential Duties of the Position:

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition by managing annual audits.
  • Maximize returns and limit risk by managing cash and warehouse lines.
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, and collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare monthly cash and financial data.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information and trends.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Maintain adequate financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain financial staff job results by leading, coaching, counseling, and managing team members.
    • Plan, monitor, and appraise job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA certificate required.
  • 7-10 years of proven leadership experience in a mortgage, banking or financial institution required.
  • Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proven track record of leadership in high visibility environments.
  • Timely and dedicated work ethic.
