About the location:

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from Piazza San Marco, Four Seasons Hotel Danieli, Venice is an iconic property offering elegant, spacious accommodations. The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Finance is responsible for safeguarding the hotel’s assets and financial resources to maximize profitability. This role provides timely and accurate financial information and advice to senior management, ensuring compliance with local and corporate policies as well as the Management Agreement. The Director of Finance will lead the Finance team, foster cross-department collaboration, and support strategic financial planning for Hotel Danieli.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team to meet current and future business needs.

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with all hotel departments, ownership, auditors, and the Home Office.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Four Seasons’ Code of Conduct and internal policies.

  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports in compliance with GAAP and corporate standards.

  • Monitor and manage all financial transactions including sales, purchases, payroll, and expenses.

  • Oversee bank account management, reconciliations, and compliance with loan covenants.

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow optimization.

  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, leases, and agreements, ensuring all are properly authorized and reviewed.

  • Continuously improve financial processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with department heads and the General Manager to establish policies, internal controls, and safeguard hotel assets.

  • Monitor labor costs, ensure compliance with employment laws, and support effective workforce planning.

  • Identify and drive new business opportunities to increase hotel profitability.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally within luxury hospitality (Four Seasons experience is a plus).

  • Proven leadership and people management skills in a hotel or resort environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian.

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and hotel financial systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel financial software.

  • High integrity, transparency, and commitment to ethical business practices.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and business acumen.

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time position based at Hotel Danieli, Venice.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
