Position Summary
The Director of Finance & Accounting is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for driving financial excellence across our growing organization. Reporting to the COO, you will lead all financial operations while serving as a key strategic partner to the executive team. This role combines financial stewardship with business insight to support our continued growth in the maternity and nursing apparel market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals and growth initiatives
• Partner with leadership to assess financial risks and opportunities, ensuring long-term financial health
• Support fundraising, financing, and investment initiatives as needed
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to guide executive decision-making
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes to support operational and strategic planning
• Analyze financial performance, key metrics, and trends across sales channels
• Develop financial models to evaluate new product lines, market expansion, and other growth opportunities
• Create and deliver executive-level financial reporting and presentations
Accounting & Compliance
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Manage cash flow planning, working capital, and treasury functions
• Lead tax compliance efforts, working with external advisors to ensure timely filings
• Improve and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the audit process
Team Leadership
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence
• Ensure efficient execution of all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems
Required Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Experience in a direct-to-consumer (DTC), eCommerce, or retail environment.
• Proficiency in financial planning tools and ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a plus).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights. Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach to working across departments.
• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
Location: US - Remote
Salary: $140,000-$160,000 base salary (depending on experience, skillset, and location) plus 20% target bonus
