The Director of Field Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing outbound transportation operations while ensuring compliance, safety, and cost-efficiency across the supply chain. You will leverage your expertise in logistics leadership, transportation planning, compliance, vendor management, and operational excellence to oversee outbound freight execution and ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries to store and depot locations.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Distribution Centers, Delivery Operations, Safety, and external logistics partners—to drive performance, develop strategic initiatives, and support the growth of our transportation network. This position is primarily home-based with regular virtual meetings and 20–30% travel to distribution centers, depots, and field locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred)
  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in transportation or logistics management within a retail, wholesale, or multi-location environment
  • Experience with SAP (WMS) strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and familiarity with DOT regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Contract negotiation experience (asset, 3PL, lease agreements)
  • P&L experience, vendor/asset management, and vehicle maintenance oversight
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs/import processes is a plus

Physical Demands

  • Sit, walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs independently
  • Move objects up to 100 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Navigate warehouse and yard environments
  • Stand or sit for extended periods as needed
