As part of Talent Acquisition, the Director of Executive Recruitment leads the in-house search team partnering closely with the leaders of WVUHS to identify, engage and cultivate top talent that drives impact for our organization. This role will focus on attracting passive market-leading talent to WVU Medicine, and lead the design, delivery and implementation of holistic executive recruiting strategies across various lines of businesses and functional areas. Incumbent will independently manage executive search (AVP+) and direct sourcing strategies, delivering an exceptional candidate experience and excellent client services. Will be the key advisor and partner with key stakeholders to design, coordinate and execute on search strategies to attract passive talent. Will build and lead the executive recruiting strategy for the organization. Curious: Someone who loves understanding people, their attitudes, needs, and behaviors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree

2. At least 5 years of recruiting or research experience in healthcare at a global in-house recruiting team, executive search firm, or a large organization.

EXPERIENCE:

1. 5-7 years of advising and influencing executive leadership

2. Experience with applicant tracking systems, recruitment marketing platforms and recruiting technology

3. 5-7 years of recruiting or research experience in healthcare at a global in-house recruiting team, executive search firm, or a large organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience working with recruiting technologies, especially Workday

2. Experience or knowledge of recruitment in a healthcare setting

1. Act with autonomy, own and execute executive level (AVP+) searches across key functional areas and lines of businesses

2. Lead all aspects of the executive search lifecycle: search/market intelligence strategy, sourcing & identification of top talent communities, candidate cultivation, client management, offer negotiations and executive onboarding including:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and expert on trends within the market, as well as internal shifts that may impact the business and hiring demands
  • Partner with hiring teams to build effective sourcing strategies, drive proactive market research and promote/drive referrals especially in areas where the talent landscape is particularly competitive
  • Integrate primary research, internal data, secondary sources, and marketplace intelligence in analyses that drive business decisions; embrace data & analytics
  • Manage client and candidate expectations, advising on best practices when engaging passive candidates.
  • Influence and educate stakeholders and interviewers, delivering on a consistent recruiting process for both the client and candidate
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate with an extended team to drive alignment; particularly with respect to ascertaining and managing candidate expectations and experience through the offer negotiation process

3. Stay current on the market landscape of emerging technology that is disrupting the talent acquisition lifecycle and identify opportunities for innovation

4. Share the compelling vision of WVU Medicine’s mission and values to the external talent market and act as a WVU Medicine Brand Ambassador

5. Contribute to the knowledge base of executive recruiting and WVU Medicine, by providing mentoring and coaching to teammates, and training on relevant industries and talent communities

6. Exceptional ability to assess candidate skill, experience, and cultural fit

7. Ability to directly source highly qualified candidates through various means of outreach

8. Build a pipeline of exceptional talent for future potential opportunities

9. Display exceptional leadership qualities, high emotional intelligence and expertise in motivating others

10. Manage the budget and timeline of all strategic recruiting initiatives and his/her scope of the operational recruitment budget.

11. Provide guidance and talent acquisition expertise to business unit leaders, hiring managers and HR leaders ensuring efficient execution of processes across the organization.

12. Responsible for onboarding activities of physicians in coordination with Human Resources, medical and financial credentialing.

13. Ensures early and timely contact and screening of candidates.  Arranges pre-screening of candidate background checks and pre-employment physicals in cooperation with credentialing department.  Arranges and hosts on-site recruitment visits. Coordinates relocation issues with candidates.

14. Reviews and makes recommendations for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on Recruitment & Retention matters to effect continual improvements in efficiency.
