About Telnyx

Telnyx is an industry leader that's not just imagining the future of global connectivity—we're building it. From architecting and amplifying the reach of a private, global, multi-cloud IP network, to bringing hyperlocal edge technology right to your fingertips through intuitive APIs, we're shaping a new era of seamless interconnection between people, devices, and applications.

We're driven by a desire to transform and modernize what's antiquated, automate the manual, and solve real-world problems through innovative connectivity solutions. As a testament to our success, we're proud to stand as a financially stable and profitable company. Our robust profitability allows us not only to invest in pioneering technologies but also to foster an environment of continuous learning and growth for our team.

Our collective vision is a world where borderless connectivity fuels limitless innovation. By joining us, you can be part of laying the foundations for this interconnected future. We're currently seeking passionate individuals who are excited about the opportunity to contribute to an industry-shaping company while growing their own skills and careers.

The opportunity

Telnyx is building the infrastructure for real-time AI and communications. We own and operate a global private network, communications infrastructure, GPU capacity and inference services, and an expanding platform for edge compute and AI agents. Enterprises use Telnyx to build and run mission-critical applications without stitching together a long chain of vendors.

We're growing rapidly and profitable. We have the product depth, global infrastructure and production customers to win much larger enterprise relationships. Now we're building a dedicated enterprise sales organization to pursue them.

We're looking for a Director or VP of Enterprise Sales to build and lead our North American enterprise motion. This is not an ISV or platform-account management role. We have a separate team for that. Your mandate is to win major enterprises directly, create a repeatable way to do it and build the team that can scale it. We'll calibrate the title to the leader's experience and scope.

Many of the largest companies in North America are redesigning the way they communicate with customers, operate contact centers and deploy AI. They care about latency, security, reliability, data control, unit economics and whether a vendor can support serious production workloads. Telnyx has a distinct story because we own important layers of the infrastructure beneath the applications.

The challenge isn't creating a long target list or selling another API. It's identifying where that control makes a material difference, earning technical credibility, proving value in live deployments and expanding from the first use case into strategic, multi-product relationships.

What you'll build
  • A high-performance enterprise organization. Build an initial team of eight enterprise account executives, paired one-to-one with field development engineers (FDEs). Set the pod operating model, hiring bar, coaching cadence and expectations. Scale toward 16 sellers when the economics and execution justify it.
  • A focused named-account strategy. Put a clear thesis behind account selection, with roughly 30 to 40 named accounts per seller and a tightly prioritized set of highest-potential targets. Focus the team's energy on opportunities with credible seven-figure annual revenue potential rather than broad, low-conviction prospecting.
  • A technical, outcome-led sales motion. Work alongside FDEs to qualify architecture, define a deployment path, run effective evaluations and commercialize initial use cases. Sell business outcomes without losing the technical detail that makes the proposal defensible.
  • Repeatable enterprise plays. Build winning motions around AI-powered customer engagement, contact centers, voice agents, agent assist, programmable communications, real-time network services and AI infrastructure where Telnyx has an advantage. Use working demos, reference applications, customer evidence and strong economics, not generic decks.
  • Executive and multi-threaded relationships. Establish access across engineering and product leadership, CIO/CTO organizations, operations, security, procurement and the executives accountable for the business case. Navigate security reviews, complex commercial terms and long buying cycles with discipline.
  • An accountable operating system. Own territory design, pipeline creation, deal inspection, qualification, forecasting, win/loss analysis and talent development. Partner with Marketing, Product, RevOps and Customer Success to improve both new-logo acquisition and expansion after the initial deployment.
How we'll measure success

The ultimate scorecard is revenue. We will look at net-new enterprise ARR, qualified pipeline creation, win rates, sales cycle, forecast accuracy and the productivity of each AE/FDE pod. Pipeline must be real, tied to named buyers and deployable use cases, and convert into contracted revenue. Headcount growth follows evidence of repeatable unit economics, not the other way around.

In the first phase, success means recruiting a strong initial team, establishing a prioritized North American account plan, personally helping advance major opportunities and creating several repeatable reference wins. Over time, the team should deliver predictable enterprise pipeline and revenue without relying on heroics from a handful of individuals.

Who you are
  • You've built and led enterprise sales teams selling complex B2B technology into large North American accounts, and you've personally helped close meaningful seven-figure relationships.
  • You understand how technical evaluations become enterprise contracts. Experience in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, AI, networking, communications or adjacent markets is especially relevant.
  • You're comfortable selling alongside engineers. You can discuss latency, integrations, APIs, architecture, security and cost tradeoffs without retreating into buzzwords.
  • You can recruit excellent enterprise sellers, coach them in live deals and build a demanding but practical culture of accountability.
  • You think in pipeline coverage, conversion, rep productivity and customer economics. You don't confuse activity with progress or a signed pilot with a scalable enterprise relationship.
  • You operate with urgency, spend time with customers and are willing to build the playbook rather than wait for one to be handed to you.
Why Telnyx

This is an opportunity to build a major enterprise business on top of infrastructure that is already in production, globally deployed and economically differentiated. You will work directly with senior product, engineering and go-to-market leadership, with meaningful latitude to shape how the North American enterprise organization is built.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
