The (Director, Enterprise Applications) is a strategic leadership role responsible for transforming BetterUp’s enterprise systems into a strategic engine for growth, scale, and innovation. This leader defines and executes the vision for our enterprise applications ecosystem, ensuring it accelerates revenue, strengthens customer retention, and powers operational excellence across the business.

Sitting at the intersection of business and IT, this role drives the enterprise systems strategy that underpins BetterUp’s financial and strategic objectives. From enabling operational leverage through automation, to unlocking the power of GenAI for both business users and internal teams, this leader ensures our platforms are not only functional, but transformative.

This role partners closely with executive stakeholders across Sales, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, Finance, Legal, and HR to ensure enterprise technology investments directly support their objectives. Leading a high-performing team of engineers, architects, product owners, developers, and agile leaders, the Director of Enterprise Apps is accountable for delivering secure, scalable, and insight-driven systems that support BetterUp’s next chapter of growth.

Key Responsibilities
AI Enablement Leadership
  • Act as the executive sponsor for self-driving enterprise initiatives, focusing on AI-driven orchestration and autonomous operations within GTM and AI-Workspace Technology domains.

  • Architect and lead the AI strategy and governance framework tailored to AI-Workspace Technology, overseeing intelligent automation, vendor ecosystems, and system integration to enable proactive, data-informed GTM execution.

  • Champion the development of a control tower for GTM and AI-Workspace Technology—leveraging GenAI and decision intelligence to deliver real-time visibility, predictive insights, and autonomous workflows across the revenue lifecycle.

  • Establish and scale a rapid prototyping capability to accelerate deployment of GenAI use cases that directly impact GTM velocity, forecasting accuracy, customer lifecycle automation, and cross-functional alignment.

Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Governance
  • Lead governance processes including the EA Steering Committee, Architecture Review Board (ARB), DevSecOps, and Continuous Improvement Committee.

  • Own the operating model for intake, prioritization, delivery, and lifecycle management of enterprise apps.

  • Define and evolve the Enterprise Applications roadmap in alignment with company OKRs (Trees/Plants/Seeds strategy.


Executive Engagement & Communication
  • Represent EA organization in strategic planning forums and executive business reviews.

  • Communicate roadmap progress, delivery outcomes, platform risks, and performance metrics to executive leadership.

  • Ensure alignment of EA efforts with broader IT, security, data, and business transformation programs.

Financial Oversight & Vendor Strategy
  • Own enterprise applications budget, cost model, and vendor contract strategy.

  • Evaluate software investments, consolidations, and renewals across all domains (GTM, Finance, Legal, People).

  • Guide the team in assessing vendor options, negotiating contract terms, and evaluating ROI across platforms.


Team Leadership & Organizational Design
  • Develop and scale an enterprise-grade delivery organization including PMs, architects, analysts, and developers.

  • Drive clarity in roles, responsibilities, and delivery cadence across product teams.

  • Actively mentor direct reports and support career development within the EA function.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise applications and digital transformation

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in leading and managing AI projects and teams in a large-scale

  • Bring together the Enterprise AI program by shaping and coalescing AI use cases across the company and ensuring organizational alignment

  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional delivery programs and governance models at scale

  • Deep expertise in the Salesforce ecosystem and adjacent SaaS platforms supporting GTM, Finance, People, and Legal domains

  • Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise budgeting, vendor strategy, and influence P&L outcomes

  • Executive presence and experience aligning enterprise technology strategy to C-level business objectives

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The salary for the role is $230,000 to $315,000.
