Director of Engineering Recruiting

The Director of Engineering Recruiting is a strategic leader responsible for scaling Coreweave’s technical organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned recruiting professional with a deep understanding of engineering hiring, who thrives in high-growth environments and knows how to lead with both data and heart. You’ll build and execute recruiting strategies, lead a high-performing team, and partner closely with engineering leadership to attract and retain top-tier technical talent.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic Talent Acquisition

  • Own and evolve Coreweave’s engineering hiring strategy across multiple functions and levels.

  • Forecast and prioritize hiring needs in partnership with Engineering, Product, and People leadership.

  • Use market intelligence, compensation trends, and competitor insights to drive results.

2. Executive-Level Recruiting

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for senior professional, director, and executive-level engineering roles.

  • Personally source and close high-impact technical leaders and niche technical talent.

  • Champion a world-class candidate experience from first touch to onboarding.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, aligning recruiting with business goals.

  • Partner with HR, People Ops, and DEI to build inclusive, high-performing teams.

  • Communicate hiring trends, pipeline health, and strategy updates to key stakeholders.

4. Operational Excellence & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Leverage analytics to improve pipeline conversion rates, time-to-fill, and quality of hire.

  • Optimize tools, workflows, and interview frameworks to drive efficiency and scalability.

  • Evaluate and implement sourcing automation and ATS enhancements.

5. Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, coach, and scale a team of high-performing technical recruiters.

  • Create a collaborative, metrics-driven recruiting culture centered on excellence and learning.

  • Lead by example in candidate engagement, storytelling, and stakeholder partnership.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Experience

  • 10+ years of technical recruiting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

  • Proven success hiring for senior and executive engineering roles in fast-paced, scaling environments.

  • Experience in startups, scaling (300+ hires a year), and cloud/infrastructure tech a plus.

Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of engineering org structures, technologies, and role nuances.

  • Mastery of sourcing tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Github, Gem) and ATS platforms (e.g., Greenhouse).

  • Skilled in recruiting analytics, reporting, and optimization for hiring at scale.

  • Executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.

  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills in competitive markets.

Success Metrics & KPIs

  • Time-to-fill and time-to-hire

  • Pipeline conversion rates and sourcing channel performance

  • Offer acceptance rate and candidate experience scores

  • Engineering diversity hiring outcomes

  • Hiring manager satisfaction and partner feedback

The base pay and target total cash for this position range from $185,000 to $250,000 and $230,000 to $310,000, accordingly. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position includes a discretionary bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Our Workplace

While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets. New hires will be invited to attend onboarding at one of our hubs within their first month. Teams also gather quarterly to support collaboration
