Role Summary

The Director of Platform Services is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and operations of our internal and external platform infrastructure. This role oversees a team of engineers and service owners to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing platform capabilities that support the company’s products, internal development, and business operations.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute the platform services strategy in alignment with business objectives and technical goals.

  • Lead initiatives that drive high availability, reliability, efficiency, and performance across all platform services.

  • Mentor and support technical leaders across Core Services, DevOps, Data Engineering, and IT.

  • Champion customer satisfaction by leveraging feedback loops, interviews, and collaborative planning to ensure alignment with needs and priorities.

  • Advance a data-driven culture by expanding and refining operational metrics (KPIs, SLOs) that measure platform and team effectiveness.

  • Advocate for engineering excellence by identifying and supporting key investments in people and technology.

  • Establish and uphold best practices around security, compliance, and infrastructure governance.

  • Partner closely with Software Engineering, Data Science, and Product Management to ensure seamless integration of platform capabilities.

  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee budgets related to infrastructure and platform tooling.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.


You’ll Be Successful in This Role if You Have/Are

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a focus on platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or Data Engineering.

  • A track record of strategic initiative ownership, driving alignment, and delivering results in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong customer focus, with experience driving developer productivity and satisfaction.

  • Deep expertise in managing and scaling cloud-based infrastructure (preferably AWS), with knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.

  • The ability to design modern system architectures that follow best practices—such as asynchronous processing, loose coupling, redundancy, and observability.

  • A strong understanding of the modern data ecosystem, including distributed computing (e.g., Spark), Data Lakes, storage formats, and normalization trade-offs.

  • A history of building and leading high-performing technical teams.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.


You May Also Have

  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company.

  • Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).

  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) practices.

  • Domain knowledge of the Ad Tech or Media ecosystem.

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
