As the largest training provider for Amazon Career Choice, and a growing partner to state governments building registered apprenticeship programs, Correlation One sits at the intersection of employer talent needs and scalable workforce training.

We work with Fortune 500 enterprises, federal and state government agencies, and leading employers to close skills gaps in AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and operations leadership. Our programs produce job-ready graduates who are prepared to contribute from day one.

Role Overview

The Director of Employer Partnerships is a senior business development role responsible for building and scaling partnerships with employers who hire Correlation One program graduates, particularly from our Amazon Career Choice tracks and state-level apprenticeship programs. This role is the critical link between Correlation One’s training outcomes and employer hiring demand.

You will own the full lifecycle of employer partnership development: identifying target employers, building relationships with hiring leaders and talent acquisition teams, negotiating partnership structures, and driving measurable placement and hiring outcomes. You will work closely with program delivery, government partnerships, and executive leadership to ensure our graduate pipeline is tightly aligned with employer demand.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Partnership Development

  • Identify, prospect, and close employer partnerships with companies actively hiring for roles aligned with Correlation One’s program tracks (data analytics, cybersecurity, IT support, operations leadership).
  • Build a scalable employer pipeline across industries including technology, financial services, healthcare, logistics, and professional services.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies targeting hiring managers, talent acquisition leaders, and HR executives at mid-market and enterprise employers.
  • Structure partnership agreements covering hiring commitments, interview pipelines, and co-branded talent programs.

Apprenticeship Program Growth

  • Partner with state workforce agencies and Correlation One’s government partnerships team to recruit employers into registered apprenticeship programs.
  • Educate employers on the value proposition, tax incentives, and talent retention benefits of apprenticeship models.
  • Grow the employer base for existing state apprenticeship partnerships (e.g., Pennsylvania, Texas) and support expansion into new states.
  • Coordinate with Department of Labor registered apprenticeship requirements and intermediary organizations.

Amazon Career Choice Graduate Placement

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for employers interested in hiring Amazon Career Choice program graduates across OLC, Data Analyst, Cybersecurity, and IT Support tracks.
  • Collaborate with Amazon Career Choice program teams to align graduate skill profiles with employer job requirements.
  • Build demand validation relationships with employers (e.g., NTT Data model) to demonstrate graduate readiness and drive hiring volume.

Strategy & Reporting

  • Own employer partnership KPIs: number of active employer partners, graduate interviews scheduled, hires completed, and employer NPS.
  • Develop and maintain a CRM-based employer pipeline in HubSpot, tracking partnership stage, hiring volume, and revenue attribution.
  • Provide market intelligence on employer hiring trends, skills demand, and competitive landscape to inform program design.
  • Present partnership results and pipeline updates to executive leadership on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7–10 years of experience in employer partnerships, business development, or workforce sales within workforce development, staffing, talent solutions, or employer-sponsored training organizations.
  • Demonstrated track record of building employer hiring pipelines and closing partnership agreements with mid-market and enterprise employers.
  • Deep familiarity with the workforce development ecosystem, including registered apprenticeships, employer-sponsored training models (e.g., Amazon Career Choice or similar), and state/federal workforce programs.
  • Experience working with or selling into HR, talent acquisition, and workforce planning functions at Fortune 500 or large-scale employers.
  • Strong understanding of skills-based hiring trends, employer talent challenges, and the value proposition of non-degree talent pipelines.
  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and data-driven pipeline management.

Preferred

  • Direct experience at a national workforce development organization (e.g., Year Up, Per Scholas, NPower, Generation, JFF, Apprenti, or similar).
  • Experience with Department of Labor registered apprenticeship programs, including employer onboarding and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Career Choice or other large-scale employer education benefit programs.
  • Experience managing employer relationships across multiple geographies or program verticals simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, cybersecurity, IT support, or operations career pathways.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
