The role of Director, Employee Learning has a critical role to play in this journey. You will help identify critical skills of the future, design innovative learning experiences and ensure that our employees are continuously developing the capabilities they need to succeed in a fast-changing environment. You will design, build and scale the learning ecosystem that will enable all employees to live our values, serve our customers, and ultimately strengthen culture and accelerate performance. This role will manage a team and contribute to broader priorities as a member of the Culture, Talent, and Development (CTD) leadership team. As a team, we are responsible for culture and talent building programs, including leadership development, employee learning, talent management, engagement, listening, and inclusion. 

Job Responsibilities 
  • Learning Strategy: Create a cohesive employee learning journey that provides meaningful growth experiences to all employees, aligned to our business goals, culture, and career development frameworks
  • Learning Innovation: Introduce modern, digital and AI-first approaches to learning especially in the areas of content design, learning experiences, analytics and more, to meet employees where they are and scale with speed. Consult on organization-wide learning initiatives to optimize for learner experience, scalability and automation
  • Instructional Design: Translate learning objectives into compelling learning experiences across modalities (instructor led, on demand, hybrid) and structure (cohort-based programs, courses, microlearning, job aids, scenarios, virtual coaching)
  • Measurement & Impact: Partner with employee listening and analytics to identify key employee personas and skill gaps to inform content roadmap, establish a measurement strategy to assess the impact of all learning programs, and to create dashboards and reporting on key learning initiatives 
  • Communications: Establish mechanisms to brand and communicate our learning strategies and programs effectively with key stakeholders, including HR Colleagues, Business Leaders, and Employees
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team to deliver instructional design, learning programs, standards, and knowledge management at a fast pace and with high quality
  • Operations: Establish our technology business requirements; identify and consult with vendors to support program delivery; lead the learning and content roadmap and budget; establish processes and standards to support all learning
Required Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in HR with at least 7+ years in Learning & Development roles with progressive responsibility 
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business priorities into learning outcomes.
  • Proven success designing and scaling learning programs for high growth SaaS or technology companies 
  • Innovative thinker with a high bias for action; must have a record of experimenting with new tools/technology, platforms and delivery methods. 
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally with other People Team members (such as HRBPs or the broader CTD team) and other leaders in the organization 
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities evolve quickly 
  • Builder and a Strategic Operator, who can zoom out to design a forward looking learning strategy while rolling up your sleeves to deliver impactful programs today
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation with senior audiences
Preferred qualifications:
  • Strategic ownership of learning and talent management technology/systems; familiarity with Docebo, Zendesk, SuccessFactors, and Tableau preferred

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$109,000$215,000 USD
