Position Summary:

We are building a unified Growth & Experience organization across a portfolio of five direct-to-consumer brands: Albany Park, Edloe Finch, X-Chair, Mavix, and Timbuk2, along with our B2B brand, Sit on It Seating. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact Director role with portfolio breadth, a strong existing team, and a clear mandate to drive commercial and experience transformation.

As Director of eCommerce, you will own the digital commercial engine across all DTC brands, driving conversion, trading performance, and site experience with a bias for action and a test-and-learn mindset. You will inherit a capable team and help shape how we scale from here, including building a more robust CRO capability, a key priority for the business.

This role is designed for a leader ready to operate at scale today, with the opportunity to expand scope and impact as the organization evolves.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Commercial performance & trading

  • Own eCommerce performance across DTC brands, including revenue targets and core KPIs (CVR, AOV, RPU, revenue per session)
  • Establish and lead a weekly trading cadence to identify performance drivers and gaps, and execute against them
  • Evolve merchandising, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Partner with Consumer Acquisition & Growth to optimize traffic quality and channel mix

Conversion rate optimization

  • Help build and scale a CRO capability, a key opportunity area for the business
  • Lead structured experimentation efforts (A/B testing, personalization, UX improvements)
  • Optimize the end-to-end conversion funnel from landing through checkout
  • Leverage customer data and analytics to identify and prioritize opportunities

Site experience & merchandising

  • Oversee on-site merchandising, product presentation, and content strategy across DTC sites
  • Support optimization of the Sit on It Seating site and partner experiences as needed
  • Partner with Creative and CX teams to ensure content drives engagement and conversion
  • Champion mobile-first best practices across the site experience
  • Align site experience with marketing campaigns in partnership with Growth and Creative teams

Team leadership & culture

  • Lead and develop a high-performing eCommerce team
  • Support growth of emerging leaders and build team capability over time
  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement
  • Encourage a test-and-learn mindset grounded in data and shared insights

Technology & operations

  • Partner on the eCommerce tech stack and site operations, with primarily in-house execution
  • Leverage automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and performance
  • Ensure strong data integrity and visibility into site and business performance

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 12+ years of progressive eCommerce experience, including time in DTC or omnichannel environments
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing teams and developing talent
  • Proven track record of driving eCommerce performance and contributing to P&L ownership
  • Experience leading or contributing to CRO and experimentation programs
  • Strong familiarity with Shopify ecosystems and modern eCommerce tech stacks
  • Solid commercial acumen, including forecasting, trading cadence, and revenue optimization
  • Experience operating across multiple brands, categories, or business units preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using customer data and performance metrics to drive decisions
  • AI-forward mindset, actively leverages AI tools to enhance speed, decision-making, and impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • Experience in home furnishings, lifestyle, or consumer goods categories
  • Experience with CX and post-purchase experience as part of the conversion funnel
  • Experience with Amazon and marketplace channel management
  • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment without heavy agency support
