WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

Overview:
We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Director of FP&A – Digital & Technology to lead financial planning and decision support across our high-growth digital business and core technology investments. This individual will partner closely with senior leaders across Digital Marketing, Product, IT, and Digital Operations to drive clarity, rigor, and impact across digital channels and tech initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to impact the future of a rapidly growing brand that’s redefining wellness. As Director, you’ll be at the heart of our financial strategy — driving focus and execution at scale while translating financial insights into actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities for Alo’s digital channels and enterprise technology functions.
  • Serve as the lead finance business partner to Digital Marketing, Product, Technology, Web Merchandising, CRM, and Digital Operations teams—guiding strategic investment decisions to drive growth and optimize bottom line
  • Own consolidated digital P&L, including tracking of tech-related capex and opex
  • Partner with CRM team to evaluate the financial impact of lifecycle marketing initiatives and conversion-driving campaigns
  • Collaborate with Web Merchandising on product mix optimization and site strategy
  • Develop investment frameworks and scenario models for acquisition spend, website performance, infrastructure scaling, and technology initiatives
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and high-accountability environment
  • Prepare management materials and lead monthly reporting for digital and technology
  • Drive automation and systematization of reporting tools, partnering with Accounting, Data, and BI to ensure consistency and accuracy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in FP&A, including 3+ years supporting digital and/or technology functions in a CPG, retail, or DTC environment
  • Strong grasp of digital KPIs (CAC, LTV, AOV, ROAS, conversion rate) and understanding of technology cost structure (capitalized development)
  • Experience partnering with CRM, merchandising, and operations teams to evaluate and influence performance
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with ERP system (SAS, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Passion for innovation, performance, and scaling best-in-class consumer experiences

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $175,000-$225,000 per year.  Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance.  Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long-term incentives, a PTO policy, and a variety of progressive benefits.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
