About the role:
Landing is looking for a strategic, high-performing Director of Development to lead the charge in expanding our footprint across the U.S. This role is for a seasoned dealmaker ready to own high-value relationships, drive revenue, and redefine how multifamily real estate gets done — with massive earning potential (including a top-tier OTE).

You won’t just sell. You’ll own markets, influence business strategy, and be a key player in shaping Landing’s future. You’ll spearhead sales of Autopilot, Landing’s exclusive property management product, to Multifamily Ownership and Property Management Groups. With deep industry knowledge and a killer playbook, you’ll close big deals with major players — and keep them coming.

What you will do:

  • Lead high-value sales cycles from prospecting to close
  • Travel frequently to close in-person with senior-level decision-makers — you're comfortable leading boardroom discussions and executive negotiations.
  • Build and scale your pipeline using strategic, creative outreach and trusted industry relationships.
  • Drive expansion strategy — identify emerging markets, tailor GTM plans, and bring key stakeholders on board.
  • Collaborate across teams with Operations, Legal, and Leadership to ensure seamless execution of every contract you close.
  • Represent Landing in the field, at events, and with key industry leaders
  • Report directly to the VP of Development, and act as a trusted thought partner on revenue strategy and team growth.

What’s exciting about this role:

  • High-impact, high-visibility: You’re not just closing deals — you’re shaping the future of our business.
  • Big-time earnings: With a highly competitive OTE and uncapped commission, the upside is massive.
  • Executive exposure: You’ll work closely with senior leadership and have a voice in our strategic direction.
  • Category leader: You’re selling a product with real traction, a unique value prop, and market demand.
  • Opportunity to build: Help shape our sales culture, mentor others, and grow with us.

What you need:

  • A closer at heart, with 5+ years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, ideally in multifamily businesses
  • Proven success owning complex deals with senior executives and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Sharp, strategic, and fluent in value-based selling and long-term relationship development
  • Excellent communicator — you speak the language of owners, operators, and executives
  • Experienced in contract negotiation, sales forecasting, and deal strategy
  • Comfortable with frequent traveling
  • Nice to have: Willing to relocate to Birmingham, AL HQ

What we offer:

Landing aims to create a workplace that fosters both personal and professional growth. We offer a competitive benefits package we are proud to share with you!

  • Solid compensation package ($75-$110k, based on experience) + uncapped OTE
  • Stock options
  • Comprehensive benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D, Disability, Mental Health, Pet, Commuter, and FSA or HSA
  • We’ve got you covered with a 401(k) plan and access to ImmediatePay
  • Feel relaxed with super generous PTO policy
  • Opportunities for upward mobility - we want you to grow with us!
  • Explore and travel comfortably with free nights in a Landing home per year
  • Employee perks for temporary or indefinite stays when you choose to live with Landing

Landing provides equal opportunities for everyone that works for us and everyone that applies to join our team, without regard to sex or gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, any service, past, present, or future, in the uniformed services of the United States (military or veteran status), or any other consideration protected by federal, state, or local law.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
