The Portfolios team is responsible for Wealthsimple’s managed investing experience—a fully automated way to grow your money that’s designed to help clients achieve their financial goals. From saving for retirement to building long-term wealth, Portfolios gives clients access to expertly designed investment strategies, low fees, and personalized advice, all through a modern digital experience.
We serve a broad range of clients—from those transferring investments from traditional institutions to those just getting started. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of product and content designers focused on building a world-class investing experience.
- Define and drive the design strategy in partnership with Product, Engineering, and our in-house Portfolio Managers—grounded in client needs, business goals, and market opportunity.
- Champion craft and storytelling, raising the bar for UX, visual design, motion, and interaction across surfaces.
- Bring clarity to complexity, simplifying financial concepts and guiding users through their investing journey with confidence.
- Coach and develop designers through regular feedback, mentorship, and opportunities to grow their impact.
- Use research, data, and direct client insights to continuously improve how we communicate performance, risk, advice, and long-term value.
- Scale and resource your team to meet the needs of a growing business and client base.
What You'll Bring:
- Deep experience leading product design teams at scale—bonus if it’s in investing, fintech, or a regulated space.
- Strong strategic and product thinking—you can shape vision, prioritize ruthlessly, and partner across disciplines to make it happen.
- Exceptional craft in interaction and visual design, with a portfolio of polished and effective consumer-facing work.
- Comfortable leading through ambiguity, and knows how to build alignment and momentum in a cross-functional environment.
