Datadog is looking for a Director of Demand Generation to help lead our growth marketing efforts, developing and executing data-driven strategies to drive user acquisition, conversion, and revenue growth across all digital paid channels. Leading a team of digital marketers, you’ll oversee the planning, implementation, and optimization of performance marketing campaigns globally across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, programmatic, affiliate, and other paid digital channels. Reporting into the Senior Director of Demand Generation, and collaborating closely with senior leadership, field marketing, product marketing, creative, and sales teams, you'll align marketing strategies with business objectives to accelerate Datadog’s success globally. You thrive in analyzing metrics, identifying trends, and optimizing campaigns to achieve aggressive revenue targets.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for paid digital channels to drive user acquisition, retention, and revenue growth globally
  • Lead and mentor a team of 10+ marketers, setting KPIs and ensuring strong execution
  • Analyze campaign performance and optimize based on data insights to maximize ROI

  • Partner with product, data, and creative teams to refine targeting, messaging, and channel mix across varying markets.
  • Leverage A/B testing, CRO, and automation tools to scale and improve performance

Who You Are:

  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing marketing teams with empathy, clarity, and a focus on delivering outcomes
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, growth marketing, user acquisition, and demand generation strategies, with experience in the B2B tech industry
  • Expertise in launching and managing campaigns across multiple channels (social, display, search, web) and ad platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook), as well as experience with tag management, offline conversion tracking, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in marketing analytics tools as Google Analytics and Tag Manager
  • Familiarity with audience segmentation and the ability to tailor strategies to global audiences is highly preferred
  • Data-driven approach to marketing, with proficiency in reporting, testing, and optimizing KPIs with an eye on conversion rates and revenue growth

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • Generous and competitive benefits package

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
