At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

As the Head of Deal Desk and Strategy at Vanta, you will own the strategy, structure, and execution of our global Deal Desk function, driving Sales velocity while protecting commercial integrity across every deal Vanta closes.

The Deal Desk team is the connective tissue between Vanta's high-growth Sales organization and the operational rigor required to close complex, global deals accurately and efficiently. Sitting at the intersection of Sales, Accounting, and Legal, this team is essential to how we scale our revenue motion. As Head of Deal Desk, you will own the strategy and execution of the global deal desk team.

What you’ll do as a Director, Deal Desk and Strategy at Vanta:

  • Lead and grow a global Deal Desk team across NAMER, EMEA, and APAC, developing team members, establishing coverage models, and hiring for the open EMEA and APAC roles

  • Own deal strategy, improve the frameworks, discount guardrails, approval matrices, and escalation paths that allow Sales to move fast with the right controls in place

  • Serve as the trusted strategic partner to Sales leadership on complex, large, and non-standard deals, bringing a commercial point of view, not just a process check

  • Partner closely with Accounting, Legal, and Finance to ensure deal structures are compliant with revenue recognition and legal frameworks

  • Build the operational infrastructure for Deal Desk, including tooling, workflows, approval automation, and analytics that provide visibility into deal health and velocity

  • Define the strategy for deal desk engagement and how they enable cross-fucntional stakeholders to effectively work with the team

How to be successful in this role:

  • 8-10 years of Deal Desk, Deal Strategy or related commercial experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment, with at least 3-4 years in a people leadership role

  • Proven ability to build and scale a deal desk function; you've done this before and know what good looks like

  • High sales empathy; you move quickly, advocate for the field, and know how to be a partner rather than a gatekeeper

  • Executive-level stakeholder management skills across Sales, Legal, and Accounting; you can align fast-moving, competing priorities

  • Strategic thinker who builds scalable programs, not just manages transactions; you're always thinking about the next stage of the function

  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

What you can expect as a Vanta’n:

  • Industry-competitive salary and equity

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans

  • 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for all new parents

  • Health & wellness stipend

  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend

  • Commuter benefits for team members who report to the SF and NYC office

  • Family planning benefits

  • Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting

  • Flexible PTO policy, plus 80 hours of Sick Time

  • 11 company-paid holidays

  • Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and other company-wide events!

  • Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors and may vary based on candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials.

At Vanta, we are committed to hiring diverse talent of different backgrounds and as such, it is important to us to provide an inclusive work environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender identity, age, religion, sexual orientation, veteran or disability status, or any other protected class. As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage and welcome people of all backgrounds to apply.

About Vanta

We started in 2018, in the wake of several high-profile data breaches. Online security was only becoming more important, but we knew firsthand how hard it could be for fast-growing companies to invest the time and manpower it takes to build a solid security foundation. Vanta was inspired by a vision to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling companies to improve and prove their security. From our early days automating security monitoring for compliance standards like SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 to creating the world's leading Trust Management Platform, our vision remains unchanged.

Now more than ever, making security continuous—not just a point-in-time check— is essential. Thousands of companies rely on Vanta to build, maintain and demonstrate their trust— all in a way that's real-time and transparent.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
