We are seeking a Director, Data—a strategic, execution-focused leader with strong analytical depth, client-facing skills, and a passion for turning complex data into actionable intelligence. This role will be instrumental in enabling our clients to make informed, data-driven decisions and drive measurable impact across their marketing, growth, and customer experience strategies.

Applicants must have experience in the advertising agency space. Experience in automotive, CPG, or telecommunications industries is a strong plus. This role is open to applicants in Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Dallas, Chicago, or San Diego.

Responsibilities

  • Client-Facing Data Leadership
  • Serve as the day-to-day data lead on key client engagements, overseeing data strategy development, implementation, and performance tracking.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating business goals into analytic frameworks and deliverables.
  • Present clear, compelling insights to clients and internal stakeholders that inform strategy and drive action.

  • Data Strategy & Execution
  • Design and implement data strategies that support full-funnel marketing—from awareness and acquisition to retention and loyalty.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, such as user experience, strategy and creative, to deliver insights and help prioritize decision-making for new and existing digital experiences or marketing programs.
  • Lead the development of dashboards, performance scorecards, and models to optimize marketing performance and customer behavior insights.
  • Manage and maintain high data integrity across projects through collaboration with engineering, analytics, and marketing teams.

  • Data Enablement & Innovation
  • Explore emerging data tools, methodologies, and channels—proposing new solutions to improve marketing effectiveness and customer intelligence.
  • Develop proof-of-concept analyses or pilots to test innovative approaches, frameworks, and measurement techniques.
  • Champion a data-first culture with both internal teams and client partners, advancing data fluency and adoption of best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems)
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, digital marketing intelligence, or data consulting, including at least 3+ years in a client-facing capacity.
  • Proven experience within an advertising or digital agency required.
  • Demonstrated success in building and delivering full-funnel marketing analytics solutions, , with the ability to blend business acumen and marketing concepts with strong analytical approaches.
  • Expert-level experience and capabilities within at least one of the following; Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics 4 or Shopper Marketing data sources and concepts (Amazon Vendor Central, Digital Shelf tools, Retail Media Networks)
  • Strong fluency in marketing performance metrics, digital marketing channels (media, CRM, e-commerce), and customer journey optimization.
  • Proficient in visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) and hands-on data manipulation capabilities. Ability to demonstrate adoption or integration of AI-based capabilities is a plus.
  • Executive-level presentation and storytelling capabilities, including comfort engaging with non-technical and senior audiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
