We're seeking an experienced Director of Data who is passionate about building and scaling data capabilities in a fast-growing startup environment. You'll lead our data analytics, data engineering, and machine learning initiatives, driving data-informed decision-making and innovation across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the data function, aligning it with overall company objectives.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of scalable data architectures, analytics platforms, and data pipelines.
  • Lead the implementation and scaling of machine learning models to solve critical business challenges and unlock growth opportunities.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team across analytics, data engineering, and machine learning.
  • Establish best practices for data governance, quality, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to identify opportunities where data can enhance decision-making and optimize business processes.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and data-driven innovation throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, data engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and scaling data infrastructures, analytics frameworks, and machine learning systems.
  • Proficiency with modern data stacks, cloud platforms (AWS), and associated technologies (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Stitch, Airflow).
  • Strong experience with SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL processes, and big data technologies.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and experience deploying predictive models into production.
  • Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and leading high-performing technical teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project management skills, and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in fast-paced startups or growth-stage companies.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and methodologies.

  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated leader comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communicator who can translate complex data concepts into clear business language.

Compensation Range for this role: $215,000 - $250,000, depending on experience.
