A Place for Mom is seeking a Director, Data Products to help build the future of our senior care data ecosystem. As a member of our growing Data organization, this role will define and drive how we systematically collect, organize, and package our internal proprietary data to maximize value for the families we serve and our partners within the senior care space.

Who you are:

This director of Data Product role will be at the helm of building our product offering designed specifically for community customers. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong product vision who can operate cross-functionally to create an all-encompassing community vision and product. The successful candidate will balance customer-centric design with advanced reporting capabilities, build strong feedback loops with customers, and evaluate a consolidation strategy of legacy products; transforming our marketplace into a unified, comprehensive, high-impact experience. This leader will report to the VP of Data and partner with the team to formulate a long-term product strategy and vision that aligns with our overall business priorities and goals.

What you will do:

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Lead the development of a cohesive data product vision and translate that strategy into a robust roadmap prioritizing high-impact features and user experiences for our community and internal customers.

  • Define clear objectives and key results (OKRs) that align with company goals, ensuring every initiative delivers measurable value.

Semantic Layer & Foundational Data Architecture

  • Articulate the vision and execution plan for an intuitive, performant semantic layer that underpins company-wide analytics and accelerates insight generation.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to scope and develop curated datasets optimized for strategic use cases such as forecasting, personalization, and targeted outreach.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data product strategy across departments, fostering alignment with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders.

  • Partner with analysts, data engineers, and ML engineers to optimize data organization for cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and speed-to-insight.

  • Guide and mentor others, providing clarity, context, and accountability to build a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Execution & Evangelism

  • Provide well-scoped requirements to data engineering and platform teams to enable timely delivery of functionality and enhancements.

  • Champion adoption of self-service data tools, including AI-powered solutions, across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Communicate progress and value realization of data investments proactively to senior leadership.

  • Identify, evaluate, and productize opportunities for data monetization that create new business value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

  • 7+ years of experience in product management or data platform leadership, ideally with prior experience in data product roles or as a data scientist/engineer.

  • Proven track record of taking products from ideation to scaled implementation, especially in internal tools or data-intensive B2B environments.

  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and modern data architecture best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to define and measure KPIs for foundational data products.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights for executive audiences.

  • Thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments and adept at driving alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $200,000 to $225,000 + 30% Bonus
