The Director of Cybersecurity Engineering and Future Operations evaluates technologies, processes and capabilities related to future business, where cybersecurity is an element of operation. This position works closely with our CTO and business development areas to evaluate new capabilities that require cybersecurity integration and/or have compliance impacts. The ideal candidate balances technical and people skills; and will have expert knowledge in all areas of cybersecurity to include data protection, vulnerability management, incident management, network security, system security and access management. This role reports directly to the CISO. This is a remote-telework role. US Citizenship is required to apply. CISSP Certification is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, oversight and support for emerging Amentum business activities which involve cybersecurity.
  • Maintain a good understanding of industry trends and visions that may impact Amentum cybersecurity competencies.
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration with various business functions, partners, vendors and suppliers.
  • Oversee cybersecurity change management for new cybersecurity efforts.
  • Mature our data protection, endpoint protection and identity and access management capabilities so we are protected from current and emerging threats.
  • Manage the technical, engineering, development, installation, implementation and operationalization of new services for current and future cybersecurity operations.
  • Create metrics and KPI’s to understand impact and ensure business alignment.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to senior management regarding the feasibility, effectiveness and risk of new initiatives in cybersecurity.
  • Provide proactive representation to internal and external groups as needed.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the industry, threat environment and cybersecurity best practices.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of key regulatory compliance mandates such as Sarbanes Oxley and CMMC.
  • Experience with NIST based controls.
  • Experience with common cybersecurity tools and platforms including, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft Azure / GCC-High / O365
    • Microsoft Defender
    • Vulnerability Management (Tenable)
    • Email protection (Proofpoint)
    • Palo Alto products
  • Knowledge of emerging industry trends impacting cybersecurity such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and zero trust.
  • Effective time management and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with desire for professional excellence, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to prioritize and adapt to dynamic changes in the environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
  • Typically, 15 years of cybersecurity experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or 13 years of cybersecurity experience with a master’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Usually eight years of managerial experience.
  • CISSP certification is required.
  • Able to travel up to 25%.
