Lead the design strategy and execution for brand, marketing, and product initiatives, managing a multidisciplinary creative team and ensuring brand consistency across various platforms.
We’re looking for a versatile and experienced Director of Creative Services to lead the development and execution of creative across brand, marketing, and product initiatives. This role serves as both the hands-on lead designer and the manager of our growing creative team, overseeing the full creative function at PlayVS. You’ll drive visual strategy, manage a growing design team, and deliver high-impact work across digital products, campaigns, partnerships, and live events. This is a hybrid role that blends creative leadership, team management, and design execution—perfect for a creative leader who wants to shape a fast-growing brand from the inside out. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and works closely with product, partnerships, and content leads.
What You'll Do at PlayVS:
- Lead design strategy and execution across brand, marketing, and product experiences.
- Serve as the lead designer while managing and mentoring a small, multidisciplinary team.
- Create marketing assets for tournaments, social media, sponsorships, broadcasts, and digital campaigns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (marketing, product, partnerships) to shape and evolve the creative vision and priorities.
- Deliver cohesive branded experiences in partnership with internal teams and external sports organizations.
- Design and maintain visual identity systems, including logos, event branding, and style guides.
- Lead branded activations in collaboration with league and partner organizations.
- Support product teams with UI/UX design for internal tools and user-facing applications.
- Ensure brand consistency and creative excellence across all touchpoints.
- Scale and maintain shared design systems across marketing and product.
We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have:
- 10+ years of experience across brand, marketing, and product design.
- Proven experience leading design teams and providing mentorship and direction.
- A strong, multi-disciplinary portfolio showcasing work in brand identity, marketing design, and digital product UI/UX.
- Experience in campaign creative, tournament/event branding, social content, and digital advertising.
- Ability to collaborate across marketing, product, partnerships, and external organizations.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects a plus).
- Familiarity with tools like Notion, Slack, and Asana (or comparable tools) for project collaboration and management
- Experience working with design systems and product teams in agile environments.
Added Bonus If You Have:
- Experience in sports, esports, entertainment, or media.
- Motion design or broadcast graphics experience.
