We are looking for a Director of Corporate Finance & Strategy to support our rapidly expanding businesses in the collectibles marketplace space. The Finance & Strategy team contributes to Collectors mission by enabling decision making with key financial insights. The team partners with key senior business leaders to support strong operational management of the business and to facilitate strategic decision making focused on key investments, operational improvements, new business opportunities and strategic transactions.
Reporting directly to our VP of Finance & Strategy, the Director of Corporate Finance & Strategy will play a critical leadership role in enterprise-wide core financial planning processes (close, forecast, budgeting, AOP), reporting, business review/tracking, long range planning and Investor/Board communications. The individual will also be responsible for coaching and developing a team of 2-3 members.
This role is based at our Santa Ana, CA headquarters or our Jersey City office, with flexibility for a hybrid work schedule.
What You'll Do:
Lead company-wide FP&A processes (budgeting, pacing, consolidated forecasting (3 statements), AOP)
Track company-wide performance against plan via monthly forecast updates, and provide transparency to business leaders via reporting and live reviews
Communicate key financial and operational metrics to create transparency into performance and inform strategic and operational decisionsDevelop and maintain long term financial models that accurately forecast revenue and profitability
Develop and maintain long term financial models (long range planning) that accurately forecast revenue and profitability
Play a key leadership role in the development of executive, investor and board material presentations
Manage financial forecasting systems (e.g. Adaptive, Netsuite) and tools
Partner with the Accounting team to lead a robust monthly close process
Collaborate across the broader Finance team and other multifunctional teams to support strategic decisions with financial/economic analysis and insight
Effectively manage team priorities, deliverables, and set clear expectations to ensure consistent quality, on-time delivery of all key deliverables.
Lead by example and be a champion of all company policies, including safety, attendance & security
Proactively identify ways to improve our core FP&A processes
Drive key IPO readiness initiatives, inclusive of quarterly earnings simulation
Who You Are:
A seasoned Corporate Finance leader with at least 10-12+ years of progressive experience in Finance with at least 3+ years in a public company senior Corporate Finance role
Significant experience leading the design and execution of corporate FP&A processes and systems, developing/maintaining forecasts, and leading business planning exercises (e.g. AOP, long range planning)
A visible, collaborative and proactive leader who demonstrates a high level of ownership, process orientation, and operating discipline. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, partner and influence across a matrixed organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues with a bias toward over communication
Demonstrated ability to develop effective presentations for an executive level audience; constructing clear, compelling business narratives
An experienced people manager with demonstrated ability to effectively manage team priorities, coaches/develops team members, and set clear expectations
Outstanding Excel and data management skills
Hands on individual willing to roll up sleeves
Have a strong work ethic
Superior attention to detail with problem solving techniques
Strong understanding of GAAP and other public reporting related issues
Strong understanding of financial management processes
Strong understanding of financial systems and tools (e.g. Adaptive, Netsuite)
Bonus:
Experience with consumer goods and/pr digital businesses with consumer and operational components (e.g.CPG, ecommerce)
Passionate about collectibles and/or sports
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $152,779 - $258,435. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set. This role may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation, please ask your recruiter for details.
