The role

Linktree is building an always-on storytelling engine for creators and SMBs and we’re hiring the content and social leader to run it. This is a role for someone with sharp content judgment, real cultural fluency, and the operational chops to scale a modern content machine inside a high-growth company.

You’ll serve as Linktree’s internal lead for external content storytelling on owned organic channels, building the brand narrative and content standards that show up everywhere Linktree speaks across owned channels. Your mandate: make Linktree’s voice unmistakable, Linker-native, useful, and culturally present, while building a system that grows audience, strengthens brand clarity, and turns product and partner moments into stories people actually care about.

What you’ll do

  • Own Linktree’s external narrative across owned channels: define the content vision, pillars, voice, and standards across social plus editorial channels like blog or newsletter. Clarify what we stand for, how we sound, and what we cover.
  • Act as our lead content storyteller for major moments: lead content storytelling for product launches, partnerships, creator campaigns, and cultural tentpoles. Working closely with PMM and Comms so Linktree shows up with a cohesive point of view in real time.
  • Set the narrative across organic channels: partner closely with cross functional teams to shape how our brand comes to life across owned channels. Partner with comms to ensure press moments and owned storytelling channels reinforce each other and build momentum.
  • Run social like a high-performing desk: build and lead the organic social team across calendar planning, publishing, format innovation, and community engagement with clear priorities and crisp execution.
  • Build a Linker-native content engine: develop repeatable series and formats that creators and SMBs actually want. Create content that feels native to internet culture, not just “branded content.”
  • Build and lead long form storytelling with taste and rigor: own long-form storytelling across our blog and newsletter surfaces, identifying where new channels should be built and existing ones refined. Partner with Growth Marketing and Comms where it amplifies reach, authority, and narrative pull.
  • Install the operating system: establish workflows for briefing, production, review and approvals, asset management, and rights and usage so quality scales and speed doesn’t break standards.
  • Build the insight loop for social listening: own social listening and analytics. Turn trends and audience feedback into content programming, launch amplification, and general marketing strategy
  • Lead cross-functional alignment: Product Marketing, Comms, and our Creator and SMB teams so storytelling is the amplifier for launches and the connective tissue across the org.
  • Build the creative bench: partner with our internal creative team while developing additional teams and partner networks across writing, design, motion, video, and production. Bring strong taste, clear briefs, and consistent quality.

What you bring

  • 10+ years in content, social, and/or brand storytelling with 5+ years leading teams, with a track record of building systems that scale.
  • Proven success growing owned social channels with strong creative instincts and operational discipline.
  • Exceptional storytelling judgment: able to set a voice, uphold standards, and make hard calls on what’s worth saying (and what isn’t).
  • Deep understanding of both creator and SMB ecosystems as well as internet culture broadly; you can translate trends into programming that feels native and timely.
  • Comfort with measurement: you know how to use analytics/listening to guide strategy, sharpen programming, and prove impact.
  • Ability to build scalable production workflows and lead creative resources across in-house and partners.

Nice to have

  • Experience building a content studio or long form storytelling team and cadence.
  • SEO-led content strategy plus distribution partnerships.
  • Close collaboration with creator marketing, partnerships, and communications teams, and comfort packaging stories with creators and SMBs, not just about them.
  • Experience shaping narrative for high-visibility product launches and partnerships, including tight coordination with Comms and PR.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
