The Impact You Will Make

Risepoint is seeking a Director, Content Strategy & Thought Leadership to advance our brand and reputation. This is a highly impactful and cross-functional role for a storyteller who understands that great thought leadership isn’t just content — it’s a deliberate, sustained effort to shape how an industry thinks and to position our company within that industry. This role leads brand campaigns, digital reputation, executive thought leadership, and integrated marketing initiatives spanning digital, social, experiential, earned, and print channels.

How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute an integrated content strategy across digital, social, experiential, and print to produce brand-aligned content that increases awareness, affinity, and association with our brand pillars through a thought leadership lens.

  • Design an omnichannel content calendar to bring the content strategy to life while also maximizing the value of reports, events, and other key activities, collaborating with Internal and External Communications.
  • Inform and implement SEO, AEO, and other digital reputation strategies via PESO.
  • Craft integrated campaigns centered around key moments, such as conferences and report releases.
  • Establish a data-driven approach to content development and performance, leveraging analytics, testing, and emerging digital trends.
  • Ensure all content aligns with our voice, tone, and messaging framework, editing content as needed.
  • Lead executive thought leadership planning and execution for the CEO and other key C-suite leaders through ghostwriting, editorial planning, and ongoing audience development.
  • Identify and prioritize conferences, industry events, awards, and forums where Risepoint and its leaders can build meaningful visibility and credibility.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of event participation — from abstract submissions and speaker prep to logistics, on-site presence, and post-event content amplification.
  • Collaborate with Public Affairs and our PR agency to shape and support executive public appearances, including podcast features, media interviews, byline opportunities, and speaking engagements.

What Success Looks Like

  • Your efforts increase awareness, trust, and engagement with key audiences, while ensuring that the Risepoint story is told clearly, consistently, and credibly in the moments and channels that matter most.

  • Risepoint is consistently recognized as a credible voice in higher education and workforce innovation through thoughtful, high-quality content, executive visibility, and integrated brand campaigns.

  • Executive thought leadership efforts increase audience engagement, strengthen brand affinity, and create meaningful opportunities for visibility across digital, social, media, and industry channels.

  • Cross-functional content initiatives are well-planned, data-informed, and executed effectively — ensuring the right stories reach the right audiences at the right moments.

How Impact Will be Measured

  • Growth in brand awareness, audience engagement, and share of voice across thought leadership, content, social, and executive visibility initiatives.

  • Successful execution of integrated campaigns, events, and content programs that support key business priorities and strengthen Risepoint’s market presence.

  • Increased visibility and engagement opportunities for company leaders through speaking engagements, media placements, industry participation, and high-performing executive content.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Experience That Matters Most

  • 10+ years of experience in thought leadership, content strategy, marketing, or a closely related field — ideally with exposure to more than one of these disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute full brand campaigns from concept to completion, with a working understanding of how AEO and SEO inform content strategy.
  • Experience developing social media channel strategies (LinkedIn and YouTube experience especially valued) that support integrated campaigns.
  • A track record of building compelling executive thought leadership presences and collaborating with PR teams on earned media efforts.
  • The ability to translate narrative and positioning into content and campaigns that move audiences.
  • Exceptional writing skills — you can capture each leader’s unique voice and the brand’s voice, leveraging each as appropriate.
  • Experience owning content calendars across multiple channels and keeping complex workstreams on track.
  • Comfort with measurement and reporting, and an understanding of how paid fits into a broader brand strategy.
  • Familiarity with the conference and podcast landscape in education, technology, or a similarly ideas-driven industry.

Experience That’s Great to Have

  • Background in B2B, higher education, or EdTech.
  • Direct experience partnering with or supporting a senior leader on communications planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms and a habit of letting data inform decisions.

Risepoint is an equal-opportunity employer and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
