About the Job

We are seeking a senior leader to own end-to-end commercial strategy for our devices business. This role partners directly with the GM of Devices and cross-functional leaders across Product, Product Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Growth to define pricing strategy, commercialization plans, and performance management that drive profitable, scalable growth.

This is a high-impact, highly autonomous role for a first-principles thinker who can operate at both the strategic and operational level; shaping direction, pressure-testing assumptions, and ensuring the business is focused on the highest-leverage opportunities.

The US-based salary range for this position is $178,500 to $261,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

Commercial Strategy and Monetization

  • Own pricing and monetization strategy across devices and services, including MSRP, promotions, discounting, bundling, and regional price architecture.
  • Identify untapped pricing, packaging, and partnership opportunities to accelerate revenue and margin growth.
  • Lead scenario modeling, TAM sizing, elasticity analysis, and sensitivity testing in partnership with Finance and Product.
  • Build commercial cases for new devices and market launches, including unit economics, attach rates, international feasibility, and go/no-go recommendations.
  • Design and evaluate pricing and promotional experiments to optimize demand, conversion, and profitability.

Device Value & Customer Economics

  • Own the commercial thesis for how device adoption impacts retention, LTV, conversion, and subscription mix.
  • Build and maintain models linking device penetration to subscription and lifecycle economics.
  • Partner with Data and Product to design experiments that isolate incremental device-driven value.
  • Translate insights into clear recommendations for pricing, bundling, and roadmap prioritization.

Business Performance & Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the GM of Devices, supporting quarterly business reviews, annual planning, and priority setting.
  • Own the KPI framework, dashboards, and operating cadence to track performance, surface leading indicators, and identify risks early.
  • Pressure-test initiatives, assumptions, and investment proposals to ensure focus on the highest-impact work.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency, clarify decision rights, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration without adding process overhead.

Insights, Market Intelligence & “Looking Around Corners”

  • Track competitive dynamics, pricing moves, and ecosystem shifts with commercial implications for the devices business.
  • Develop and proactively present point-of-view recommendations to the GM and leadership team.
  • Identify and evaluate new business models, partnerships, or monetization vectors grounded in market and customer insight.

Executive Communication & Influence

  • Create clear, concise narratives for the board, exec team, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the GM of Devices, bringing structured thinking and independent viewpoints.
  • Rally stakeholders across the organization around a shared commercial vision.
What We’re Looking For
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in commercial strategy, revenue strategy, pricing, or GM-adjacent roles within high-growth consumer apps and consumer hardware.
  • Proven ownership of complex pricing and monetization strategy, including MSRP setting, promotions, discounting, bundles, and international price architecture
  • Strong financial and analytical foundation with hands-on experience building and operating advanced models (unit economics, LTV, CAC, elasticity, TAM, sensitivity analysis) that directly inform executive decisions.
  • Deep experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Product Marketing, Finance, Sales, Growth, and International teams to translate strategy into execution without direct authority.
  • Track record of commercializing new products or entering new markets, including building go/no-go cases, launch economics, and post-launch performance frameworks.
  • Exceptional first-principles thinker who can synthesize incomplete data, challenge assumptions, and independently develop clear points of view in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong operator mindset: comfortable moving between strategy and day-to-day performance management, KPI design, and operating cadence (QBRs, dashboards, exec reviews).
  • Executive-level communication skills with experience creating crisp narratives for senior leadership, GMs, and boards
  • Trusted advisor profile: someone who can both pressure-test plans and rally teams, balancing constructive skepticism with progress and momentum.
  • Experience in globally scaled businesses preferred, with exposure to international pricing, regional market dynamics, and cross-geo coordination.
Our Benefits
  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid for employees)
  • 401(k) plan with company matching program
  • Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well-being
  • Flexible PTO, 13 company-wide days off throughout the year
  • Winter and Summer Weeklong Synchronized Company Shutdowns
  • Learning & Development programs
  • Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership for your preferred circle
  • Free Tile Products

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
