Job Announcement:

Director of Clinical Strategy

Amid clinical workforce shortages, rising healthcare costs and ongoing concerns about inequity, IMPaCT unlocks the power of the grassroots community health workforce.

Here at IMPaCT Care, we get out of bed every day to change lives, with the most effective intervention in the world for addressing health inequity. We find, train and enable Community Health Workers: caring people who keep their communities healthy. We have built the largest and most scientifically-proven Community Health Worker platform in the country, used across 20 states by 50 organizations like Kaiser Permanente, the Veterans Affairs Administration and United Way. Across multiple randomized controlled trials IMPaCT has achieved outcomes frequently believed to be out of reach, including $2,500 annual savings per patient, improved mental health and a Net Promoter Score of 94. We’re making waves: on CNN, in WaPo, at the Fed…there is even a new Medicare billing code for Community Health Workers that is modeled after IMPaCT.

We’re changing the game, but also know the importance of enjoying the journey. That’s why we have made sure that IMPaCT Care is the place to be! We provide competitive compensation and equity grants, comprehensive benefits, unlimited PTO and plenty of opportunities for team-building and fun. Plus you get to work from home.

Who you are:

You are a razor-sharp systems builder and a seasoned operator who gets out of bed to transform care delivery. You have seen it all, building and operating clinical or care management programs, and now you’re ready to use your operational expertise to help other organizations succeed in building programs that deliver at scale.  You break complex processes down into their component parts, and you possess the rare ability to shift between high-level strategic vision and granular operational details. You operate effectively in ambiguity, building effective relationships with both business and clinical stakeholders to achieve outcomes.  You build trust because you have high attention to detail and always do what you say you are going to do.

What you’ll do:

You will lead the end-to-end journey of building, launching, and scaling customer Community Health Worker (CHW) programs. You will serve as the primary architect and account owner, translating complex visions into high-impact operational realities.  You will:

  • lead meetings with senior executives, building trust quickly, adapting in real-time, and communicating clearly and with purpose to drive difficult decisions
  • translate customer vision into clear program designs including workflows, roles, metrics, and benchmarks
  • lead a matrixed team across workforce development, tech, and product to deliver CHW infrastructure that meets customer needs
  • use data and quantitative fluency to assess performance, regularly validating quality beneath the surface to identify root causes

What you bring:

  • Clinical training (e.g., RN, MD, LCSW, or other allied/behavioral health professionals), or a graduate degree in Health Policy, Healthcare Management, Population Health, or Healthcare Administration
  • 7+ years in healthcare operations, practice management, or healthcare consulting
  • Deep expertise in Medicare/Medicaid financing, value-based care, and revenue cycle best practices
  • Proven ability to design clinical workflows and staffing models from scratch
  • Proven ability to manage and execute complex programs across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
  • Strong ability to independently analyze data in Excel to assess performance, identify root causes, and drive improvements
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Ability to travel 8–10 times per year for team retreats and customer onsite visits

One of our core values is to create a diverse workplace that welcomes and values each team member’s unique perspective, background, and ideas. We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
