As the Director, Category - Cisco, you will lead a large Market Development organization driving the full Cisco technology portfolio in a platform-enabled IT distribution model. This strategic role owns category performance, vendor outcomes, and partner success, leveraging the Ingram Micro Xvantage™ platform to accelerate growth and profitability.
Lead and develop a high-performing vendor management team; build future-ready talent and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Own category P&L, driving revenue, margin, and market share across Cisco’s full technology suite.
Formulate and execute business strategies that align with Cisco and Ingram Micro priorities in a digital-first, platform-enabled environment.
Leverage data and insights from Ingram Micro Xvantage™ to optimize vendor strategies, inventory management, pricing, and go-to-market execution.
Build and maintain executive-level relationships with Cisco and key partners to deliver measurable outcomes and long-term strategic alignment.
Drive digital transformation across the category by integrating platform capabilities and scalable programs that enhance partner engagement and customer experience.
Monitor market trends to identify growth opportunities, influence strategic investments, and maintain competitive advantage.
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
8+ years of leadership experience in vendor management, category management, or market development in technology distribution or IT services.
Executive management experience interacting directly with key decision-makers of companies is required.
Strong people management experience and leadership skills, preferably managing through direct report managers.
Strong leadership skills with experience attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
Proven track record of driving vendor outcomes and P&L performance across multi-vendor solutions.
Deep knowledge of complex financial data and ability to communicate cause and effect on operating income.
Deep knowledge of Cisco technologies, channel ecosystems, and emerging trends.
Expertise leveraging digital platforms and data-driven strategies to deliver business outcomes.
Strong executive presence, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities.
Expertise in face-to-face presentations including ability to communicate and sell ideas with strong negotiation skills to address large audiences, both internal and external to vendors and customers
Experience navigating multinational, matrixed environments with complex vendor engagement models.
Successful background implementing strategies that result in positive impact
Understanding of customer strategic and tactical direction
Open-mindedness and cultural capacity
Advanced technology acumen and pre/post sales capabilities
Motivating skills: able to encourage and build team spirit among staff, bringing about mutual respect and cooperation

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
