As part of Datadog’s GTM Enablement & Business Value organization, the Business Value team partners with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product to articulate and quantify the measurable business outcomes our customers achieve with Datadog. The team plays a critical role in advancing Datadog’s value selling motion globally—helping customers justify investment decisions, accelerating deal velocity, increasing deal size, and strengthening executive-level relationships.

The Business Value function sits at the intersection of sales, strategy, finance, technology, and go-to-market execution, enabling Datadog to compete and win in complex, enterprise, and strategic growth segments worldwide.

Datadog is seeking a Director of Business Value to lead and scale a global Business Value team, responsible for defining strategy, building high-impact programs, and delivering executive-level business cases that support Datadog’s continued growth. This leader will own the vision, operating model, and outcomes of the Business Value function while serving as a trusted advisor to senior GTM leadership and Datadog’s largest, most strategic customers.

This role combines people leadership, program ownership, and customer-facing executive engagement. You will build and mentor a high-performing global team, define scalable value frameworks and methodologies, and embed value selling deeply across Datadog’s Sales and Customer Success motions.

What You’ll DoStrategic Leadership & Program Ownership
  • Define and own the global Business Value strategy, aligning value selling initiatives with Datadog’s GTM priorities and growth objectives
  • Design, pilot, and scale business value programs—including ROI/TCO frameworks, industry value models, maturity assessments, and value discovery—to drive value selling across the customer lifecycle
  • Build strong relationships with sales leadership and GTM teams to evangelize business value and increase adoption.
  • Establish success metrics and reporting to demonstrate Business Value impact on pipeline, deal velocity, deal size, renewals, and expansion.
People Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, lead, and mentor a global team of Business Value Managers / Business Value Associates, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, customer empathy, and executive presence
  • Provide coaching on value-based discovery, financial modeling, storytelling, and executive engagement
  • Partner with People, Recruiting and GTM leadership to define hiring profiles, onboarding, and career progression for the Business Value function
GTM Partnership & Executive Engagement
  • Serve as a senior strategic advisor to Sales and Customer Success leadership on complex, high-value opportunities
  • Personally engage with C-level and VP-level stakeholders at strategic accounts to deliver business cases, transformation roadmaps, and investment justification narratives
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Enablement to ensure Datadog’s value narrative is consistent, credible, and differentiated
Enablement & Thought Leadership
  • Embed value selling methodologies into Datadog’s GTM enablement programs, including training, playbooks, talk tracks, and certification
  • Influence Datadog’s external point of view through executive presentations, webinars, industry events, and thought leadership on digital transformation and observability value
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on how observability and cloud monitoring drive measurable business outcomes across industries and regions
Who You Are
  • 10+ years of experience in business value consulting, management consulting, enterprise SaaS, GTM strategy, or a related field, with demonstrated progression into leadership roles
  • 5+ years of experience building and leading high-performing teams in a customer-facing, consultative environment
  • Proven track record of advising senior executives and influencing outcomes in complex, enterprise sales cycles
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, ROI/TCO analysis, and business case development
  • Strategic, structured thinker with the ability to translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes
  • Exceptional executive presence with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity at scale
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related analytical field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred

  • Experience scaling global or regional value consulting / value engineering teams
  • Background in SaaS, cloud platforms, observability, or infrastructure technologies
  • Experience partnering closely with Sales Enablement or Revenue Operations
  • Strong industry perspective on digital transformation, cloud adoption, and operational excellence
