The Role

WRSTBND is seeking a driven, detail oriented Director of Business Development Sports to join our team. From large scale music festivals to premier sporting events, WRSTBND partners with clients of all sizes to deliver seamless event technology solutions. Born from a think tank of tech engineers and event producers, our team is dedicated to bridging all operational aspects of events. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of our growing team and work alongside some of the highest profile events globally, such as the Super Bowl, PGA Tour, NCAA Final Four, MLS All-Star Game, and the US Open. This position reports to our CEO. Location is flexible. 

What Will You Do?

  • Drive revenue growth by achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual financial targets, as directed by the CEO/CRO/VP of Sales.
  • Build and maintain a strong, active pipeline of quality prospects aligned with WRSTBND’s established client profile.
  • Negotiate contracts and sales quotes, collaborating with the legal team as needed to facilitate deal closures and address contract disputes or redlines.
  • Ensure prompt response to initial inquiries within 24 hours to maintain high client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Utilize and coordinate with account managers and other sales resources to maintain efficient and timely deal flow.
  • Oversee handoffs between Project Managers and operations for assigned clients, ensuring a smooth transition for new and ongoing projects.
  • Lead new business demos and manage followup actions according to WRSTBND’s sales process.
  • Keep sales process tools (Notion, HubSpot, Flex, etc.) up-to-date to enhance department efficiency.
  • Represent WRSTBND at conferences and onsite events, occasionally working onsite to support sales efforts.

What Will You Bring?

  • Active, strong relationships within the Sporting events category.
  • Familiarity with event management and related technologies and operational processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract management and legal collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with clients, internal teams, and vendors.
  • Proficiency with productivity software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and CRM tools (HubSpot, Asana, Notion).
  • College diploma required; advanced degrees or certifications in sales or business are a plus.

Bonus Points if You Have

  •  Extensive experience in event technology and innovation.
  •  Proven track record in managing high profile client accounts.
  •  Prior experience in a fast paced startup environment.

Pay Scale:

We provide a competitive salary with annual bonus eligibility. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining final salary. This role is also eligible for health insurance, 401K, life insurance and disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, parental leave, vacation, and PTO.
