Our Team

Dandelion Health was founded in 2020 by experts in health tech, hospital systems, academia, and clinical AI. We are building the world’s largest AI training and clinical development platform. Today, we pride ourselves on our ability to make data access as easy as possible for AI developers, pharma, and medical devices, while raising the bar for patient safety and data quality. Tomorrow, we will be the place where any healthcare organization can go to build a responsible clinical AI product. Our culture is all about learning from data and improving, so we can help our clients improve health through AI. Meet the rest of our team here.

Our Data

We partner with health systems to safely and ethically make their de-identified patient data available to AI developers. Currently, the data is acquired from Sharp HealthCare, Sanford Health, and Texas Health Resources – with two additional U.S. health systems joining soon.

We have clinical data dating back to July 1, 2016. This data represents over 10 million patients and includes but is not limited to:

  • Structured data (e.g., 100% of the EMR, including some claims)

  • Unstructured text (e.g., clinical notes, radiology reports)

  • Images (e.g., DICOM, pathology)

  • Video

  • Waveforms

  • Continuous streaming monitoring data

Your Role

You are an ambitious and experienced commercial leader who will own everything AI developer at Dandelion. You drive growth by building a strong pipeline across three interconnected businesses:

  1. The AHA AI TORCH. The American Heart Association AI TORCH, Powered by Dandelion Health, provides a first-of-its-kind framework for evaluating clinical AI algorithms using real-world data and expert clinical guidance. AI TORCH helps developers validate performance, demonstrate trustworthiness, and accelerate adoption by health systems, regulators, and payers. You will build the pipeline of AI developers entering AI TORCH and guide them through it.

  2. AI training and validation partnerships. You will sell Dandelion's cutting-edge clinical data platform directly to AI developers building and validating clinical AI products.

  3. Dandelion's Clinical AI Marketplace. You will recruit and contract AI developers into our marketplace, where their algorithms generate revenue through Dandelion's pharma and life sciences projects. You will own both sides of this flywheel: bringing developers in, and turning their models into commercial wins.

You are not afraid to get your hands dirty - this is a small, early-stage company with enormous ambitions and everyone pitches in to do everything.

You are excited about being at the cutting edge of clinical data and AI infrastructure. You have three primary responsibilities: (i) close deals across the AHA AI TORCH, direct training partnerships, and the Clinical AI Marketplace, (ii) deliver revenue targets, and (iii) build the developer network and operational infrastructure that turns individual deals into a durable, compounding business. You will work across the organization, including with our engineering and clinical informatics/data science counterparts, to achieve these aims.

You are not a typical sales executive. You have advanced sales skills (ideally selling clinical data, AI validation, or data platform products) and the credibility to be a trusted counterpart to AI developers, from seed-stage startups to established medtech. You can identify and foresee issues, proactively map out solutions and scenarios, communicate your ideas and plans to all levels of the organization, and document and share your learnings.

You will report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer. .

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow Dandelion's AI developer business across the AHA AI TORCH, direct training and validation partnerships, and the Clinical AI Marketplace

  • Build a strong pipeline of AI developers for the AHA AI TORCH; guide clients through the TORCH process, ensuring clarity, rigor, and satisfaction

  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers within AI development, medical device, and digital health organizations

  • Recruit, contract, and onboard AI developers into the Clinical AI Marketplace, structuring agreements that generate revenue for developers through Dandelion's pharma projects

  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with developer clients by understanding their unique needs and offering tailored solutions

  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product, data, and engineering, to ensure a seamless customer experience and inform product and go-to-market strategies

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive outreach, strategic account management, and diligent follow-up

  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the clinical AI landscape, competitor dynamics, and emerging validation, regulatory, and payer requirements to inform strategy

  • Represent Dandelion Health at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or partnerships, preferably with AI developers, clinical AI, or healthcare data products

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building a robust pipeline

  • Strong understanding of the AI development, medical device, and digital health industries

  • Experience working with healthcare data (structured, unstructured, imaging, waveforms) or the technical fluency to be credible with ML and data science teams

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical conversations and communicate value to senior executives

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment

  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events

Preferred

  • Familiarity with clinical validation, regulatory, or payer considerations in AI adoption

  • Experience with marketplace, channel, or partner-revenue business models

  • Prior work supporting professional societies, healthcare providers, or research collaborations

Team Benefits

  • Remote work and flexible hours. Availability needed for meetings, which we try to keep to a healthy minimum

  • Complete wellness benefits including healthcare, dental, vision, PTO, sick days and more. Ask for details

  • Professional development days to build your skills

  • Collegial work environment

  • Academic bent towards inquiry and problem solving but start-up speed and flexibility

  • Great balance of focus time to work on projects but easy to access team members to discuss issues and work collaboratively

  • Dandelion is a mission-driven company that is focused on improving patient care

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
