Location Preference: Remote, Anywhere in the US/North America preferred

About the Role:

This is a rare opportunity to build and own a function from the ground up in a fast growing startup. We're bringing brand, content, and design together under one leader for the first time - and we're looking for someone to shape what that function becomes, how it operates, and the bar it sets.

But this isn't brand for brand's sake. At Fingerprint, brand exists to drive pipeline and generate demand—and to build the awareness that makes demand easier to win. You'll own how we show up in the world and how that translates into revenue results. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and joining the marketing leadership team, you'll set brand and creative strategy, lead the teams that bring it to life, and treat pipeline as the scoreboard, not an afterthought.

We want someone who pushes - who challenges the team to try things we haven't tried, takes big swings, and isn't precious about which ideas win.

Our ethos is Fail. Learn. Grow. We take big bets, fail fast, and judge ideas on their merit - not on who they came from or what title proposed them. We want this leader to embody that spirit and:

  • Run a portfolio of bets, not a list of safe deliverables—some swings should be ambitious enough to fail.
  • Move fast, measure honestly, and kill or double down based on evidence.
  • Create the conditions for the best idea to win regardless of seniority - including ideas that aren't yours.
  • Treat every miss as fuel for the next attempt, and build a team culture that does the same.
 Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a new, unified Brand & Creative function - defining its mandate, operating model, and standards.
  • Own brand and creative strategy in direct service of pipeline and demand, alongside brand awareness and reputation.
  • Lead, mentor, and raise the strategic altitude of a multidisciplinary team across content, social/brand, and design - holding them accountable for both outcomes and their development.
  • Own and set the editorial calendar, and direct creative across the funnel - so content and creative ship on a deliberate cadence that's measurably moving the business, not just looking good.
  • Provide the team with a stream of creative concepts to experiment with, feeding the demand generation testing cadence
  • Define and own brand and creative standards, voice, and tone across and collaborate with channel leads to implement
  • Partner with Demand Generation and Product Marketing to identify and close content gaps for target-account needs, ensuring brand and creative support demand programs rather than run parallel to them.
  • Define how brand and creative impact is measured - tying work to pipeline, demand, and awareness—and report on it candidly, wins and misses alike.
  • Represent brand and creative in marketing leadership forums and shape company-wide go-to-market strategy.
 Qualifications:
  • 8+ years in brand, design, or creative direction, including 3+ years building and leading creative teams - ideally in B2B SaaS or an agency.
  • A strong portfolio spanning both system-level brand work (identity, guidelines, messaging frameworks) and high-craft execution across web, content, social, and campaigns.
  • A track record of brand and creative work that moved business metrics - pipeline, demand, and awareness - not just creative output, and the data to demonstrate it.
  • Proven ability to translate business goals into clear creative briefs, concepts, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across design, content, and social as a player-coach - equally credible setting direction and getting hands-on. Comfortably acts as a connector across departments, and the kind of partner whose commitments and timelines other teams trust.
  • A record of building and scaling brand systems and creative processes - guidelines, templates, and workflows - that let a lean team punch above its weight and keep non-designers on-brand.
  • A systems-minded operator who builds frameworks that outlast you, leads calmly under pressure, and creates clarity in ambiguity, rather than someone whose impact is capped by their own output.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication - you can present creative rationale to an executive audience and earn buy-in.
  • An analytical mindset: you partner with the Director of demand generation to define how brand and creative impact is measured and report on it candidly, wins and misses alike.
  • Comfort partnering across demand generation, product marketing, and corporate communications to ship one coherent story across the funnel.
  • Role requires proficiency with macOS and comfort working fully remotely using tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, Zoom Webinar, and Asana

Compensation & Transparency

For US-based employees, the cash base compensation range for this role is $180,000 – $215,000. We set standard ranges for all US roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. To comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. However, these ranges are specific to the hiring location and may differ within or outside the US. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Fingerprint teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location.

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive work environment for everyone. Fingerprint strives to foster an environment where our employees feel respected, valued and empowered, and our team members are at the forefront in helping us promote and sustain an inclusive workplace. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
