Company Overview

Deepgram is the leading voice AI platform for developers building speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS) and full speech-to-speech (STS) offerings. 200,000+ developers build with Deepgram’s voice-native foundational models – accessed through APIs or as self-managed software – due to our unmatched accuracy, latency and pricing. Customers include software companies building voice products, co-sell partners working with large enterprises, and enterprises solving internal voice AI use cases. The company ended 2024 cash-flow positive with 400+ enterprise customers, 3.3x annual usage growth across the past 4 years, over 50,000 years of audio processed and over 1 trillion words transcribed. There is no organization in the world that understands voice better than Deepgram

Now that we have over 1,000 paying customers and are growing over 100%, we are looking for a brand and awareness leader to put Deepgram on the map! This role reports directly to the CMO and plays an instrumental role in driving Deepgram’s long-term success.

If you are a modern, AI-forward brand and awareness leader—versatile in all aspects of driving awareness, including social media, PR, AR, influencers, video, digital and print advertising (yes, we will be buying highway billboards)—you may be the perfect candidate to join our team. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just follow trends, but sets them—an inventive, boundary-pushing brand thinker who knows how to break through the noise and lead markets with bold ideas. In this role, you will work alongside the CMO in a highly visible position with frequent touchpoints to the CEO and executive team. This is a career-making opportunity to shape the public face of one of AI’s most exciting companies.

What You'll Do

Brand

  • Refine and scale Deepgram’s brand positioning and identity across all channels

  • Ensure consistent brand execution across product, web, content, campaigns, and comms

  • Partner with design and web teams to evolve our visual identity and tone

PR / AR / Influencer Marketing

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, analysts, and key influencers

  • Develop and drive a strategic comms roadmap to elevate our industry profile

  • Manage PR/AR agencies and press opportunities to secure top-tier coverage

Digital and Print Advertising

  • Own awareness advertising campaigns across digital, podcast, OOH, and print

  • Collaborate with growth marketing on integrated campaign planning

  • Drive creative development for high-impact brand moments

Social Media

  • Set the strategy for Deepgram’s social channels to amplify our voice and reach

  • Create and curate compelling content that engages the AI and developer ecosystems

  • Establish KPIs and grow our audience, influence, and engagement across platforms

Video

  • Lead the strategy and execution for brand-forward video storytelling

  • Partner with creative and product marketing teams to develop thought leadership and brand narrative content

  • Drive distribution through owned and earned channels

How We Measure Success In This Role:

  • Significant elevation of Deepgram brand recognition across the voice AI and enterprise ecosystems

  • Measurable increase in perception of Deepgram as a modern, AI-forward brand

  • Strong growth in reach and engagement across social channels

  • Creation and placement of standout digital and print ads that build lasting brand equity

It’s Important To Us That You Have
Qualifications
  • 7+ years across brand and awareness functions, including social, PR, AR, influencers, video, and advertising

  • Proven track record of building B2B brands and driving measurable awareness

  • Social media fluency, especially in developer- and AI-centric communities, paired with a strong following within key social media ecosystems

  • Outstanding storyteller with a strong visual and narrative sensibility

  • Experience working in high-growth tech environments with small, scrappy teams

  • Track record of leading disruptive brand campaigns that challenged convention and broke through crowded markets

  • Creative risk-taker who thrives on building new playbooks, not repeating old ones

  • High energy, high motivation, high intelligence, high curiosity. In it for the love of the game.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience marketing to developers or in a technical B2B company

  • Demonstrated success leading or mentoring a small, high-performing team

Our tech advantage is end-to-end deep learning, but our strength lies in our diversity of people, ideas, and experiences that allow our company to create amazing STT products for people who are true innovators in the field. We believe every voice should be heard—and understood—from our transcriptions to our customers to our employees. Come join our revolution to unlock the power of voice technology for everyone. We want to hear what you’ve got to say!

Backed by prominent investors including Y Combinator, Madrona, Tiger Global, Wing VC and NVIDIA, Deepgram has raised over $85 million in total funding. If you're looking to work on cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact in the AI industry, we'd love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
