Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Treasury Director to join our Tax & Treasury team. As Treasury Director, you will play a critical role in managing Dropbox’s financial health by overseeing global cash management, capital markets, and risk mitigation strategies. In this position, you will ensure Dropbox maintains robust liquidity, an optimized capital structure, and robust treasury operations to support our growth and transformation.

 

This is a high-visibility role reporting to the Chief Tax Officer and Treasurer. This role requires close collaboration with Dropbox's senior finance executive team, including CFO, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Accounting, Investor Relations, and external banking partners. You will help develop and execute strategies to maximize capital efficiency, manage financial risk, and support long-term shareholder value creation. Further, the Treasury Director is in charge of managing and developing the Treasury team, providing management, direction, and strategic oversight to ensure operational excellence.

 

The ideal candidate should have a solid comprehension of treasury tasks, including dealing with capital markets and forecasting cash flow. They must also possess impressive analytical abilities and be innovative in solving problems in a dynamic tech environment. Responsibilities

Manage and Develop Treasury Team

  • Coach and Mentor Talent – Foster professional growth by mentoring and developing team members, creating career development plans, and identifying training opportunities
  • Build a robust treasury department - Establish exemplary processes, policies, and rules. Continue to improve in all areas.
  • Foster a Culture of Excellence – Create an environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and continuous learning within the treasury function

Capital Markets & Corporate Finance

  • Help create and implement a strategy to better manage our company's finances. This involves getting new funding, restructuring debt, repurchasing stock, and giving profits back to shareholders.
  • Manage compliance & governance requirements, debt covenants, and rating agency interactions.
  • Evaluate and execute strategies to mitigate FX, interest rate, and financial risk management.

Liquidity & Cash Management

  • Oversee global cash positioning and forecasting, ensuring proficient working capital management
  • Develop and execute liquidity strategies to support business growth and capital allocation objectives
  • Forecasting & Analysis: Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning for cash flow and funding needs
  • Manage inter-company funding and cash repatriation strategies

Banking & Treasury Operations

  • Maintain deep banking relationships and oversee bank account structures and controls.
  • Lead treasury technology enhancements, including automation and integration of cash management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, regulatory requirements, and internal treasury policies.

Insurance

  • Manage Dropbox’s global insurance portfolio, including property, cyber, D&O, and other corporate policies.
  • Evaluate insurance coverage adequacy and identify gaps in risk protection, working closely with brokers and underwriters to optimize policies.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive treasury, corporate finance, or banking experience, preferably in a publicly traded tech company
  • Robust knowledge of capital markets, liquidity management, and share repurchase programs
  • Experience with treasury management systems (TMS), cash forecasting models, and debt instruments
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, risk analytics, and scenario analysis
  • Impressive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (MBA, CFA, or CTP preferred)
