Job Overview

The Director, Art Operations is responsible for the overall smooth operation of the AltaMed Art Collection’s facilities and is responsible for finance and reporting, policies and procedures, security, maintenance, and managing service contracts. The Director reports into and partners closely with the Chief Curator of the AltaMed Art Collection to lead and implement the strategic/master planning efforts of the AltaMed Art Collection.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in facilities/security management, including 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a museum or art-related non-profit organization.

• Experience in managing and mentoring staff.

• Basic level of Spanish proficiency required; fluency is preferred.

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and possess a valid CA driver’s license and good driving record.
