BIG PICTURE:

We are searching for a full-time Director/Shooter all-in-one to help us create short cinematic viral videos!  We have an awesome team of screenwriters and producers so this role would require performing all the technical filming aspects including pre-production, lighting, sound, shooting, and directing. A big part of our success formula is being able to turn around high quality videos quickly so this position requires a multi-talented, self-motivated and resourceful individual that can wear many hats and turn around work super fast.  This position often requires working long hours including nights and weekends. Since we are a mission-led company and all of the content we create inspires people, the right candidate will find the long hours to be exciting and highly satisfying! 

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

  • Preparing with floor plans/shot lists to maintain an efficient set
  • Assisting with blocking, operating cameras and other equipment
  • Performing all the technical aspects of filming. Set up shots, operate camera and pull focus
  • Managing camera equipment and recommending new equipment to enhance production value
  • Shooting in a creative way to help build emotion, increase tension and deliver greater payoff of the message for the audience
  • Run lines and directing actors on set to deliver their best performances and carry out the necessary emotion required while also keeping the production on time 
  • Review actor wardrobe for brand safety
  • Maintain continuity of production with help of crew
  • Managing many moving pieces in a high pressure environment with the calmness of a seasoned professional
  • Working in a high pressure but fun environment while leading your crew throughout

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 3 years experience directing and shooting narrative content utilizing actors and various locations
  • Background in digital media, cinematography, film studies or related field
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment on a wide variety of projects
  • Ability to learn quickly and is a team player
  • Ability to take constructive feedback in order to improve in a positive direction
  • Ability to keep a positive attitude under pressure
  • Skilled in handling quick output without losing quality

The Director, Shooter reports directly to the Production Junior Manager
