Location: Remote — US, Canada, and the EU (Open to applicants located in the US, Canada and the EU)

Fueled is a leading digital strategy, design, and engineering agency. We are a 300+ person team that has designed and built hundreds of digital products and experiences for brands like Google, Apple, The New York Times, ESPN, Victoria’s Secret, MGM Resorts, Albertsons, and CLEAR.

As the Director of AI Product & Solutions at Fueled, you will be a pivotal, hybrid leader responsible for architecting, building, launching, and driving the commercial success of our new market-facing AI services and product framework.

You will focus on designing and delivering commercially viable, client-facing AI service offerings that are positioned for revenue growth and long-term market relevance.

Working closely with managing partners, engineering, sales, and marketing, you will rapidly define and implement our AI service offering, win customers, and inform our strategy through hands-on delivery and direct market feedback. Through Discovery, Implementation, and Stakeholder feedback, you will create a healthy, breathing life cycle that refines our AI services and informs our AI product strategy.

Intentionally remote and globally distributed across six continents, our team thrives in a culture that values flexibility, creativity, and cutting-edge technology. Together, we’re shaping the future of digital experiences.

What you will do:
  • Bootstrap, Architect, and Code Solutions: You will act as a hands-on technical builder, especially in the early stages. You will actively write code, architect the core infrastructure, personally build initial POCs, and ensure the delivery of scalable AI frameworks before scaling the team.
  • Drive product strategy and commercial success. You will own the product vision and drive rapid execution on the roadmap to achieve early commercial wins and scalable market fit. You will set and achieve KPIs for go-to-market adoption, revenue, and delivery excellence, consistently reporting metrics to leadership.
  • Build and Mentor a Multidisciplinary Team: You will assemble and lead a cross-functional strike team spanning engineering, product, and GTM/solution delivery, fostering a culture of rapid execution and commercial focus.
  • Enable sales and craft compelling assets. You will partner directly with sales and marketing to craft compelling demos, ROI documentation, and technical case studies.
  • Champion and evangelize AI innovation. You will evangelize the product at industry events, keynotes, conferences, and customer briefings. You will stay current with AI, ML, and LLM advancements, actively evaluating direct integration or partnership opportunities.
What you will achieve:
  • Week 1: You will hit the ground running, integrating with our managing partners, engineering, and sales teams to align on the core vision and begin hands-on technical exploration of the new AI product framework.
  • First Month: You will define the initial service offerings/product roadmap, begin writing the foundational code and architecture for our first AI offerings, and start personally developing early POCs and pitching assets.
  • Month 6: You will have successfully coded, validated, and launched an externally-facing AI service offering to solve client needs. You will be actively driving commercial growth and transitioning into the phase of hiring and building a team around this success.
  • Team Impact: You will have successfully laid the technical groundwork from scratch and begun assembling a high-performing cross-functional team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and seamless delivery.
  • Career Growth: By taking deep accountability for the product's execution and commercial success, you will directly benefit from its revenue growth and capitalize on significant commercial upside.
About you:
  • You are an engineer at your core and a technical expert. You are not just a "thinker" or a delegator; you thrive on building the foundation yourself. You possess strong, hands-on software engineering, data, and system design skills. You have deep practical expertise in coding AI, ML, data products, or technical solution architecture. You are equally comfortable in an IDE as you are in a boardroom presentation.
  • You are a Technical Product Leader: You have 5+ years of experience in product/engineering leadership within SaaS, AI, or platform environments. You have a practical track record of bootstrapping raw technology vision into revenue-generating reality.
  • You are a commercial driver. You have a practical track record of converting new technology vision into client-facing, revenue-generating products. You are highly motivated by commercial upside and overall success, not just base compensation.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset. You possess a "player/coach" attitude and a relentless focus on team and organizational success.
  • You are an exceptional communicator and evangelist. You have a strong external-facing presence with the ability to command a room at conferences, keynotes, and client briefings. You have experience authoring sales collateral, product documentation, and technical training.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
