Job Overview 

Mitratech is seeking a Director of AI Engineering & Product Development to lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI capabilities across our product suite. This role is responsible for building and managing a team of engineers focused on delivering high-impact, production-grade AI features and new AI-driven products that address real customer needs.
This leader will be deeply technical — capable of architecting solutions using modern AI technologies, guiding implementation decisions, and setting technical standards for AI product development. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science teams, they will ensure Mitratech’s AI offerings are innovative, scalable, secure, and deliver measurable business value.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Architect end-to-end AI systems — from model selection and fine-tuning to deployment and integration within SaaS applications.
  
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of LLMs, vector databases, RAG frameworks, and other modern AI infrastructure components.
  
• Establish scalable pipelines for data ingestion, prompt management, model evaluation, and monitoring.
  
• Define architecture patterns for embedding AI into existing Mitratech products (e.g., document analysis, workflow automation, intelligent assistants).
  

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of AI engineers and ML developers.
  
• Create a collaborative environment that blends engineering rigor with product innovation.
  
• Partner with DevOps and platform engineering teams to establish reliable MLOps practices, including CI/CD for AI models and APIs.
  
• Implement best practices around model lifecycle management, performance benchmarking, and cost optimization.
  

• Lead development of production-ready AI features and tools — from prototype to scaled deployment.
  
• Collaborate with product and UX teams to turn business use cases into technically feasible AI solutions.
  
• Ensure model accuracy, performance, and compliance with responsible AI principles (fairness, transparency, security).
  
• Manage vendor relationships with cloud and AI infrastructure providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, etc.).
  

• Partner with product leaders to prioritize and scope AI projects that align with Mitratech’s customer and market strategy.
  
• Work closely with Legal and Security teams to ensure AI implementations adhere to compliance and data governance standards.
  

Support GTM teams by providing technical insights and helping demonstrate AI capabilities to customers and prospects.

• Delivery of production-quality AI features and products on schedule.
  
• Growth and performance of the AI engineering team.
  
• Demonstrated customer adoption and measurable ROI from AI capabilities.
  

Increased speed of prototyping and iteration for new AI-driven features.

Requirements & Skills:

• 8+ years in software engineering or applied AI/ML development, with 3+ years in a leadership or architect-level role.
  
• Proven track record designing and shipping AI-enabled SaaS products or enterprise-scale AI systems.
  
• Hands-on experience with modern AI stacks, including:
  
• LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, Gemini, or similar)
  
• RAG pipelines and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS)
  
• ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face)
  
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps tools (MLflow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.)
  
• Strong coding ability in Python and experience leading AI development teams.
  
• Deep understanding of data engineering fundamentals and API-driven system design.
  
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise applications (preferably in compliance, legal, or workflow automation domains).

Final base salary offered may vary from the range listed and will be determined after carefully considering multiple factors during the hiring process, including location, relevant experience and education, required competencies and skill proficiency level, and review of internal equity.
