About JustWatch

We are the JustWatch Group. We love movies and TV shows and connect audiences with their favourite content across three divisions: JustWatch The Streaming Guide, JustWatch Media and our own streaming service, JustWatch TV.

JustWatch is the world’s largest global streaming guide, with 50 million monthly active users, helping millions of people discover what to watch and where to watch movies, TV shows and sports across their favourite theatrical exhibitors and streaming services. With JustWatch TV (JWTV), we're building our own ad-supported streaming offering, creating new opportunities for brands to connect with highly engaged streaming audiences. We're looking for ambitious commercial talent to help us build this business.

The Role

We are looking for a Director, Agency Partnerships (US) in New York or Los Angeles to build relationships with leading media agencies and secure strategic advertising investment for JustWatch TV.

Your focus will be on agency-level commercial partnerships rather than selling individual advertising campaigns. You'll work with agency investment and trading teams to negotiate annual Upfront agreements, joint business plans and advertising commitments that bring new budgets to JWTV.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone with an established agency network who can position JWTV as a compelling streaming advertising partner for brands outside the entertainment industry.

What You Will Do

  • Build and manage relationships with major and independent media agency groups, and their investment and trading teams.

  • Negotiate annual Upfront agreements, joint business plans and strategic advertising commitments that secure agency investment in JWTV.

  • Grow JWTV's share of agency advertising budgets, with a focus on non-entertainment brands across automotive, FMCG, retail, finance and other categories.

  • Develop agency-specific growth plans, manage your commercial pipeline and deliver against partnership revenue targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in agency partnerships, media sales or CTV and digital video advertising.

  • An established network of senior agency investment and trading decision-makers.

  • Proven experience negotiating significant agency-level advertising agreements, ideally including annual Upfront commitments.

  • Strong commercial instincts, knowledge of the streaming advertising landscape and the ability to build partnerships from scratch.

Why Join JustWatch?

You'll have the opportunity to help build a new arm of our advertising business within an established global streaming technology company. You'll work with an entrepreneurial, international team, take real ownership of commercial growth and help shape how brands advertise on JustWatch TV.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
