JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director is a senior sales executive responsible for driving revenue and maximizing client investment across TMZ's portfolio of content, platforms, and distribution partners. This role develops strategic relationships with advertisers and agencies, delivering innovative marketing solutions that connect brands with TMZ's highly engaged audiences while demonstrating measurable business results. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with extensive media sales experience, strong business acumen, and a passion for building lasting client partnerships.

Success in this role requires outstanding relationship management, strategic problem-solving, and the ability to deliver customized solutions that create meaningful value for clients and the business.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Revenue

  • Grow revenue across an assigned portfolio of clients by cultivating new business opportunities while strengthening and expanding existing partnerships
  • Create and deliver strategic, insight-driven proposals that align client objectives with TMZ's cross-platform capabilities, resulting in measurable outcomes and increased revenue
  • Drive advertising sales across TMZ's social media portfolio, developing integrated opportunities that maximize audience engagement and client value

Client Engagement

  • Serve as the lead strategic contact for a portfolio of key accounts, developing trusted relationships with senior marketing, advertising, and agency decision-makers
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to evaluate campaign performance, identify evolving business needs, uncover new opportunities, and position TMZ as a long-term marketing partner

Strategic Thinking

  • Develop innovative sales strategies that address client objectives and capitalize on marketplace trends
  • Leverage audience insights, market intelligence, and TMZ's full suite of assets to create scalable, integrated solutions that drive business results

Communication

  • Partner closely with sales leadership to ensure clear communication, alignment on priorities, and the effective sharing of information across the organization
  • Collaborate with colleagues across regional sales offices to coordinate multi-market client strategies and deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Deliver polished, executive-level presentations that effectively communicate recommendations, campaign performance, and strategic opportunities to both internal stakeholders and clients

Performance & Insights

  • Analyze campaign results using audience data, performance metrics, and measurement tools to identify optimization opportunities and develop actionable recommendations that support future client success

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment by encouraging knowledge sharing, promoting innovative thinking, and contributing to the continued growth and development of colleagues

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 8+ years of media, advertising, or sponsorship sales experience with a demonstrated history of driving revenue growth and achieving ambitious sales objectives
  • Experience selling integrated, cross-platform marketing solutions using a consultative, client-focused approach
  • Proven success collaborating within high-performing sales organizations while contributing to team performance and shared business goals
  • Exceptional executive presence with strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and budget planning
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, measure performance, and translate insights into strategic recommendations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of today's advertising ecosystem, including linear television, digital media, streaming, sponsorships, and integrated marketing solutions
  • Demonstrated success developing partnerships with national advertisers and leading media agencies
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build credibility across all levels of an organization

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000.00-200,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
