Our Company

Strand Marketing is a boutique digital marketing consultancy focusing on strategic client services, and performance-based media buying. Strand formed over four years ago, and our company has achieved incredible success. We work with large multi-million dollar brands, and up-and-coming start-up companies. Our expertise in media strategy, marketing operations, and the consumer journey has positioned us uniquely to provide significant growth and value to our clients. We are continuing to grow at a rapid pace and are seeking a Director, Account Management to help support our diverse and exciting client roster.

The Role

Strand is hiring a Director, Account Management to lead key client relationships and drive day-to-day execution across complex marketing programs across lead generation, affiliate, email, and paid media. This is a client-facing leadership role for someone who can bring structure to fast-moving work, align cross-functional teams, and keep initiatives progressing from strategy through execution. You will serve as a trusted partner to clients while ensuring internal teams are clear on priorities, timelines, and next steps.

The right person is highly organized, action-oriented, and comfortable operating in environments where priorities shift and speed matters. You do not need to be a deep expert in every channel on day one, but you do need to be able to take ownership quickly, communicate clearly, and move work forward with confidence.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead account execution
  • Own day-to-day leadership across assigned accounts, channels, and initiatives. Turn strategic direction into clear action plans, keep workstreams moving, and ensure campaigns, tests, and initiatives launch on time and continue to progress.
  • Manage client relationships
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders. Lead regular client calls, communicate priorities and performance clearly, and build trust through consistency, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment
  • Partner closely with teams across media, data, operations, and compliance. Clarify ownership, coordinate timelines, surface dependencies, and ensure teams stay aligned around client goals.
  • Prioritize high-impact work
  • Manage competing inputs across client needs, internal priorities, and growth opportunities. Focus teams on the work that will have the greatest impact and maintain momentum across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Translate performance into action
  • Stay close to account performance and understand the metrics that matter. Partner with channel teams to identify optimizations, uncover new opportunities, and translate insights into clear recommendations and next steps.
  • Improve systems and processes
  • Identify where workflows, communication, or execution can be stronger. Build structure where needed through better cadences, templates, tracking, and documentation to improve efficiency and scalability over time.

In this role, success means:

  • Client accounts are organized, proactive, and consistently moving forward
  • Clients feel informed, supported, and confident in both execution and direction
  • Cross-functional teams are aligned and operating efficiently
  • High-priority initiatives launch and progress without unnecessary delay
  • Performance opportunities are identified and acted on quickly
  • Account operations become more scalable and repeatable over time

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in account management, client services, or program leadership
  • Experience leading cross-functional marketing workstreams
  • Experience managing mid-market and/or enterprise client relationships
  • Exposure to performance marketing, lead generation, affiliate, email, paid media, or related channels strongly preferred
  • Strong operator who takes initiative and moves work forward
  • Excellent prioritization skills and sound judgment
  • Structured thinker who can create clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Clear, concise communicator who is comfortable with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes

Nice to Have

  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or lead generation environments
  • Familiarity with channels such as affiliate, email, or native
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environment

Why Join Strand

This is an opportunity to step into a high-ownership role with meaningful visibility across clients, strategy, and execution. You will help shape how accounts operate, how teams collaborate, and how client work scales as the business grows.

If you are energized by client leadership, operational clarity, and driving results through strong execution, we’d like to hear from you.

This is a meeting heavy role, the right candidate will be extremely comfortable being in meetings for the majority of their day.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
