As the Director of Pricing (Remote), you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!

Job purpose:

The Director of Pricing is responsible for developing and executing the pricing strategy for our bill payment products as we expand our cloud‑native platform, introduce new commercial models, and enter new markets downstream. This leader will own the pricing architecture across interchange‑driven revenue streams, product SKUs, and value‑based models to ensure competitiveness, profitability, and scalability.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in payments economics, especially card‑not‑present transactions, interchange optimization, cost‑to‑serve modeling, merchant and biller pricing, and SaaS/usage‑based pricing structures. They will collaborate tightly across Product, Finance, Sales, Legal, and Go‑To‑Market teams to support major launches, segment expansion, and scalable monetization frameworks.

A typical day at ACI for the Director of Pricing is:

  • Lead the pricing strategy for Speedpay’s cloud‑native platform and bill payment products, including downstream/adjacent market expansion.

  • Build pricing models that support both direct sales and emerging channel distribution.

  • Own interchange, network‑fee, ACH, and debit‑routing modeling to optimize margin and cost‑to‑serve.

  • Develop financial models and pricing architectures; monitor regulatory/network changes impacting profitability.

  • Partner with Product, Sales, Channel, Finance, and Legal to create pricing for new capabilities, define guardrails, and support P&L forecasting.

  • Drive pricing governance, performance tracking (e.g., win rates, churn, profitability), and SKU simplification across a large catalog.

  • Enable GTM teams with pricing tools, collateral, training, and competitive market insights.

  • Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to succeed in this role:

  • 10+ years in pricing, finance, payments, or product strategy roles.

  • Strong understanding of interchange economics, card‑not‑present payments, ACH, and/or high‑volume bill payments.

  • Expertise in financial modeling, SaaS pricing, usage-based models, and revenue optimization.

  • Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting GTM launches for cloud‑native or enterprise platforms.

  • Background with channel sales pricing structures preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, executive presence, and ability to influence senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in bill payment platforms, financial services, or fintech companies.
  • Familiarity with network fee schedules, routing optimization, and compliance frameworks.
  • Prior ownership of pricing strategy across large SKU catalogs.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.

Core Capabilities:

We seek colleagues who embody our core capabilities — these shape our culture and enable us to make a meaningful impact together:

  • Ensure Accountability: holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.

  • Drives Results: consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.

  • Customer Focus: building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

  • Cultivate Innovation: creating new and better ways for the organization to be successful.

  • Collaborates: building partnerships and working collaboratively with others.

  • Courage: stepping up to address difficult issues, saying what needs to be said.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visa status or work permit now or in the future.

In return for your expertise, we offer opportunities for growth, career development, and a competitive compensation and benefits package—all within an innovative and collaborative work environment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
