Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Edit news and public affairs video for web – YouTube, Instagram, Tiktok and other social platforms;

  • Manage media storage and organization of footage and finished projects;

  • Oversee and adhere to quality control: audio, color correction, and other relevant video specs;

  • Manage multiple edits and ensure on time delivery;

  • Ensure all video content is delivered to channel managers;

  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess ‎a commitment to the journalistic principles of truth, accuracy, fairness and impartiality. Additional qualifications include:

  • A minimum four (4) years of relevant experience, including experience working as a video editor on YouTube- and social-first news programs or journalism sites;

  • Ability to edit digital video and proficiency with Premiere/Adobe Suite required;

  • Ability to adapt videos for use on various social media platforms;

  • Proficiency with media management tools and software;

  • Technical proficiency in remote content delivery;

  • Animation skills preferred.

The WNET Group offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment.  Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $74,000.00. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
