Job Description
As a Digital Risk and Control Manager - Credit Products Lead, you will support Financial & Digital Credit Lending Product Managers in transforming credit and lending experiences. You will advise on operational risks, enabling Product teams to deliver innovative products with superior customer outcomes while maintaining a robust controls environment that ensures the firm's safety, stability, and resilience.
As part of the 1st line of defense, you will oversee risks and controls, identify weaknesses, recommend improvements, and educate the business on risk posture across the digital lending lifecycle, including lead enablement, loan origination, credit risk, portfolio management, and digital lending tools.
Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies across control frameworks, designing effective end-to-end control solutions for technology builds in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of partnership, collaboration, and transparency with product teams and other functions, serving as a subject matter expert and escalation point for control obligations.
  • Provide leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE), ensuring that controls become a natural part of the product development lifecycle, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk.
  • Lead and motivate a team to minimize financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk, while providing feedback and training on risk concepts to support innovative digital experiences.
  • Identify, quantify, communicate, and manage business risks, providing resolution recommendations and pinpointing root causes and key themes.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to develop creative risk management solutions that enhance customer experience and ensure effective, sustainable controls.
  • Advise and educate partners on risk identification and control design to deliver innovative experiences within risk appetite.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • 12+ years of risk & controls management or relatable experience, supporting the development of financial & digital credit lending products, with a strong ability to evaluate adequacy of business risk and control environment
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; solid critical thinking and analysis in technical scenarios; attention to detail and able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate creative and innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Able to think about a problem from first principles, taking innovative approaches to address user needs and to work effectively in highly agile environments, delivering value whilst dealing with high degrees of uncertainty and continuous change
  • Strong presentation skills, including generating presentations and effectively communicating to senior management
  • Experience working in financial services or a highly regulated industry
  • Comfortable working with modern collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Teams etc.
  • Able to work autonomously to affect change - flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, fostering a collaborative environment and driving initiatives that align with organizational goals and enhance employee engagement.


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Experience working with the following commercial lending products strongly preferred: Syndications, Leveraged Finance, Environmental, Social, Green (ESG), Collateral Based (ABL, Equipment, Commercial Mortgage), Trade & Treasury
  • Experience leading and developing teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Working in a matrix management model across globally diverse, virtual teams to deliver strategic initiatives and commitments, ideally leveraging product and Agile principles
  • Networking -interpersonal skills; exceptional collaboration, openness and relationship building skills
