About the team

This critical role will help the Marketing organization navigate the complex challenges of the dynamic global digital privacy landscape. As part of the Marketing Compliance & Privacy team, you will help maintain trust and safeguard Salesforce customer privacy and personal data, while enabling data-driven growth and innovation. 

We are looking for an experienced privacy professional with in-depth knowledge of online advertising to ensure that our digital advertising activities align with privacy laws and best practices. This role is part of the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Strategy & Operations team, reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing Compliance & Privacy.

The successful candidate will partner closely with marketing and legal stakeholders to foster a culture of privacy awareness. This includes evaluating new use cases, conducting impact and risk assessments, and proactively approaching evolving industry, platform and privacy requirements and best practices. 

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively evaluate privacy policies to drive alignment on new digital paid media and online advertising strategies as well as tactics

Understand Salesforce’s existing business processes and technology stack; stay current on paid media and online advertising industry developments, best practices, and technology platforms

Drive internal cross-functional education and collaboration regarding digital advertising policies as well as website and cookie governance

Document new use cases, assessment decisions including: approvals, outcomes, and action items in detail; establish regular cadence for proactively inspecting decisions 

Gain a thorough understanding of Salesforce marketing compliance policies and procedures addressing marketing privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) and effectively communicate them to all levels of the Marketing organization  

Collaborate with our privacy and legal teams to create comprehensive digital privacy policies as it relates to digital marketing in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices

Educate key internal stakeholders about online advertising policies and data protection responsibilities through training sessions and awareness programs

Support inbound Marketing Compliance & Privacy Requests

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 yrs of relevant professional experience with an emphasis on marketing privacy and digital media management

  • In-depth understanding of the digital advertising privacy environment, including advertising platforms and features, cookies, pixels, tags, floodlights, and paid media activities, and privacy regulations such as the CPRA and the GDPR

  • Excellent writer with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Can work with every level of the organization from intern to C-Suite

  • Ability to think creatively, identify, and tackle problems through data analysis

  • Work independently and effectively deal with ambiguity

  • Prior experience with Google Marketing Platforms such as DV360 and Campaign Manager

  • Familiarity with information security principles and best practices

  • Attention to detail is a must

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional Certification (CIPP) is a plus!

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $138,800 to $233,200.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
