Description

Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Director will lead the execution of digital marketing campaigns across artist releases, bringing a structured, performance-driven approach to campaign planning and delivery. This role is both strategic and hands-on. The ideal candidate comes from a digital or creative agency environment and has experience building and executing campaigns from concept through delivery. This person will work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing, artists, and internal teams to drive campaign performance across platforms. This role requires a high level of ownership and the ability to operate independently, bringing organization, clarity, and consistency to campaign execution in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing digital marketing campaigns across releases, including planning, timelines, asset coordination, and rollout.

This role translates marketing objectives into structured, executable campaign plans and manages campaigns from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and alignment among stakeholders. The role leads execution across digital platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels. It requires developing strategies for content distribution, audience engagement, and growth, while monitoring campaign performance and optimizing in real time using data and platform insights.

This role works directly with artists, managers, and internal teams to align on campaign direction and execution. The role requires managing expectations, maintaining clear communication, and balancing creative input with structured execution. The position coordinates with external agencies, vendors, and creative partners, managing deliverables, timelines, and accountability, and ensuring a high standard of execution across all campaign components.

The Director develops and oversees creator strategies across platforms, identifies and activates opportunities across digital communities and networks, and ensures execution across multiple channels to maximize reach and engagement. This role contributes to establishing clear workflows, improving cross-team coordination, and bringing consistency and efficiency to digital marketing efforts.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably within a digital, creative, or media agency.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing end-to-end campaigns across digital platforms and possess a strong understanding of social media, content distribution, and digital performance metrics.
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working directly with clients, talent, or high-profile stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualities

  • The ideal candidate brings an agency mindset, with a structured, deadline-driven, and execution-focused approach to their work. They are comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on, with a proactive and resourceful attitude and a strong sense of ownership. They are able to bring order and process to a fast-moving environment and have a strong understanding of digital culture and content trends.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
