We are seeking a creative and tech-savvy Digital Instructional Designer to join our enterprise Learning & Performance Enablement team in IFF’s Global Talent & Organizational Effectiveness Center of Excellence (COE).
In this role, you will collaborate with peers in the COE, subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to design and develop/curate innovative, learner-centered digital learning solutions, and ensure content is effectively captured, organized, and deployed through a well-structured learning ecosystem. Digital Instructional Designer – Learning & Performance Enablement - Remote

IFF is seeking a creative and tech-savvy Digital Instructional Designer to join our enterprise Learning & Performance Enablement team in IFF’s Global Talent & Organizational Effectiveness Center of Excellence (COE).

In this role, you will collaborate with peers in the COE, subject matter experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to design and develop/curate innovative, learner-centered digital learning solutions, and ensure content is effectively captured, organized, and deployed through a well-structured learning ecosystem. You’ll have the opportunity to shape learning and knowledge management strategies in a collaborative work environment that values creativity and continuous learning.

Preferred Location: Due to time zone considerations, candidates located in Mexico and Hungary are preferred.

Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience, within the local salary range.

Please note, this is a remote role with occasional travel requirements to team meetings within the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Digital Learning Development

  • Design and develop/curate synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions, including digital microlearning, videos, job support tools, vILT, and interactive content.
  • Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles to create engaging learning experiences.
  • Develop assessments, simulations, and interactive exercises to reinforce learning outcomes.
  • Use eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate) to create high-quality instructional content.
  • Ensure digital content is SCORM/xAPI compliant and compatible with the Workday Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Stay abreast with the latest trends and innovations in digital learning and propose innovative solutions and tools to enhance digital learning design and experiences.

Knowledge Management & Content Curation

  • Establish and maintain a structured knowledge management framework and centralized repository for COE learning resources, job aids, best practices, and institutional knowledge.
  • Organize, tag, and structure digital learning assets for easy searchability and retrieval.

Intranet Site Page Design & Management

  • Design, develop, and maintain the enterprise Learning intranet site to serve as a central hub for knowledge sharing and employee learning resources.
  • Create an intuitive user experience (UX/UI) to ensure ease of navigation and engagement, applying UX/UI best practices to ensure a seamless digital learning and intranet experience.
  • Regularly update and enhance the enterprise Learning site with new learning content, updates, and interactive elements.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Partner with SMEs, HR, and business leaders to translate complex content into engaging digital learning experiences.
  • Manage multiple instructional design, knowledge management, and web development projects from concept to deployment.
  • Gather user feedback and leverage data analytics to continuously improve learning solutions and intranet usability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Web Design, Knowledge Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, digital learning, or eLearning development.
  • Strong knowledge of UX/UI principles and web design best practices.
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, etc.).
  • Experience managing knowledge repositories and implementing metadata tagging/taxonomies.
  • Familiarity with learning science, adult learning theories, and instructional design models.
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for intranet customization.
  • Understanding of AI-driven knowledge management and content personalization.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (Workday, Cornerstone OnDemand), adaptive learning, and mobile learning solutions.
  • Compensation ($90K-$119K) is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
