The Role

We are looking for a Digital Content and Marketing Coordinator who will play a critical role in driving audience acquisition, engagement, and pipeline generation across ACLED's core customer and partner segments. This is a hands-on role where you will be tasked with content creation, appealing to new market sectors, digital marketing of email campaigns, webinars, events, and product communications initiatives. The ideal candidate will blend creativity with analytical rigor and action, and who thrives in creating repeatable growth from the ground up.

This position is fully remote and reports to the marketing team leadership.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

Growth & Demand Generation

  • Own and execute ACLED's growth strategy across key channels, with a focus on pipeline generation and audience expansion.

  • Develop and continuously improve lead generation and nurturing funnels in partnership with sales.
  • Generate ideas and campaigns around ACLED products and initiatives

Email & Automation

  • Own the email program end-to-end (newsletters, nurture sequences, campaign sends).
  • Segment audiences and personalize messaging to improve engagement and conversion rates.
  • Build automated workflows and lead scoring within CRM and automation tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Continuously test and optimize subject lines, content, and cadence based on performance data.

Webinars & Virtual Events

  • Own the overall strategy and operational execution of industry events, webinars, and virtual roundtables as a core growth channel.
  • Identify themes, speakers, and target audiences aligned with ACLED's commercial priorities.
  • Drive webinar promotion, registration, attendance, and post-event conversion.
  • Repurpose webinar content into ongoing content assets.
  • Manage event promotion, logistics, and follow-up to maximize pipeline impact.
  • Partner with sales to ensure effective pre- and post-event engagement strategies.

Product Communications

  • Translate ACLED's data products and insights into clear, compelling value propositions and messaging.
  • Own and/or support product launches, feature releases, and positioning across target segments.
  • Develop sales collateral (one-pagers, decks, case studies) that enable sales and educate buyers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align messaging across research, analysis, and revenue teams.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track, measure, and report on campaign performance across all channels (email, events, webinars, digital).
  • Use data to identify trends, optimize campaigns, and improve ROI.
  • Build reporting frameworks tied to growth and revenue goals.

Skills and Competencies

ACLED is seeking applicants who have the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in marketing and digital  roles, ideally from the impact sector (tech for good, global social enterprise, or commercial experience from an INGO), identifying target audiences and leading campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate.
  • Self-starter, with experience working remotely, who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role.
  • Deep intellectual curiosity about our product and our customers' motivations.
  • Interest in the conflict prevention mission and understanding of the international context.
  • Up to speed with current digital growth techniques and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools.
  • Proficiency with automation and CRM software (Salesforce).
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing digital ad campaigns.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets.
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and corporate communication.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital growth and measurement.

  • Proficiency in automation platforms and tools.
  • Agency experience.
  • Experience in graphic design.
  • Experience working on international fundraising across public and private sectors.
  • A working knowledge of the humanitarian and international development sectors.
  • Additional languages — Spanish, French, and/or Arabic — considered beneficial.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
