Embark on a journey of innovation with BAE Systems' Software Engineering Team. The team seeks a motivated Platform DevSecOps Engineer to tackle the task of leading a team. Your effort on our system ensures security, scalability, and reliability for developers and users alike. Your experience and passion for DevSecOps practices and tools will be essential in refining automated processes, streamlining deployments, providing disaster recovery, and improving the overall efficiency of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain the on-premises infrastructure in accordance with best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements, understand application needs and be an adaptable team player.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and continuous integration using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar technologies.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement optimizations to enhance system availability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Implement security measures and best practices to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents related to infrastructure, networking, and application installation and deployment in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in DevSecOps to continuously improve the infrastructure and development processes.
  • Develop strong Customer/Partner collaboration and relationship builder, manage multiple stakeholders, build trust with external stakeholder

The DevSecOps Engineer will be expected to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, a passion to learn, and a customer-focused attitude. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality services in a cloud ecosystem and will be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They will have an understanding of cloud infrastructure and the ability to bridge between development and operations. The team believes in investing in our professionals. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Proven experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or a similar role
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • Experience with AWS GC, cloud services, and air gapped environments
  • Experienced Full stack, system administration, virtualization, infrastructure integration, platform/infrastructure, Agile development
  • Knowledge of on-premises cloud infrastructure technologies
  • Experience with at least one containerization technology (Kubernetes and Docker) and container orchestration platform (e.g., Rancher and Docker Swarm)
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with at least one automation toolkit such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with at least one monitoring tool or frameworks (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, ELK stack)
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, takes initiative, and ability to effectively lead a team

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's degree in a relevant technology field
  • Security+ certification
  • Experience deploying SaaS and PaaS services for use by other users
  • Experience working in a customer service organization to resolve issues experienced by users
  • Collaborative Spirit: Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Experience with coding beyond simple scripting

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
